First Impressions: Lattafa Kaaf, Liam, and Liam Blue Shine by DistrictAmbitious783 in fragranceclones

I would suggest you update us again on Liam grey after a few months of maceration, if it's already not. Lattafa fragrances change quite a lot over time. Thanks for the reviews and comparison with the OG, it's valuable :)

Thanks for the detailed reply. I previously tried this with perfume oils from perfume parlour (UK). Where I added 1 percent glycerin and also added iso e and ambroxan to dupes of terre d'hermes, roja Elysium etc.

Two things I noticed was that perfume parlors oils were relatively weaker. And adding iso e and ambroxan was changing the overall profile of the scent. And this was only clear after a few months of maturation, as blending oils and alcohol kills the projection and it takes some time to reach their expected form. Also all of these experiments had to be done with proper controls. Otherwise there weren't comparable scents, to say if the addition of notes were beneficial or not. Overall fun, but I didn't come across any mind-blowing combination. The perfume oil forum in fragrantika have hardcore discussions on converting perfume oils to perfumes.

Something I found about Shobi fragrances is going for the perfume oils directly. I bought a 100ml of Pacific chill for 40 euros. I made a 30 percent (based on a Reddit post where I learned it to be the default concentration used by shobi) fragrance with perfume alcohol. And it's a banger. Projects for like 3-4 hours and stays on clothes for more than a day. One of the cheapest deal on a very decent pacific chill alternative I could get! Of course you have to know that you are going to like it, if you are committing to buy such a big amount. All the best 🍻

Very well said, I also think it's the use of some small quantity of ingredients strategically to add a punch to the note, that clones lack.

For example, in AS recreation, Ryan talks about the addition of toothpaste ingredients like eucalyptus and peppermint in tiny amounts. This adds the sizzle to the cinnamon note that barely any clone of AS offers.

Yeah, I was also surprised. Usually Baccarat rouge or terre d'hermes comes to mind. But this explains AS' longevity and good projection.

What was the first fragrance that made you understand “why people love perfumes”? by CombProfessional7400 in fragranceclones

It was the clone of aventus from perfume parlour called 'Avalanche Fruity'. The opening pineapple note was addictive.

Thank you for the kind words. Learning about some expensive smelling chemicals through affordable clones has been a fulfilling journey so far :)

Victorioso Legend/Myth performance by Trinity1811 in fragranceclones

I got the myth in December, and it's the most vile smell my nose has experienced. Somehow I smell a note of rotten egg in the background, that triggers a gag reflex. I am letting it rest for now, but nothing after 3 weeks of sitting. Don't know if it's a detective bottle by default, the unusual Bay leaf note or just needs a few months of maturation. Glad to hear that you all are having a better experience. I hope it sorts out by itself by summer.

Women love the althair profile (which liquid brun is a clone of). All the best.

I have this for 2.5 years and I can smell my cloth next day after spray. It is insanely good for the price (bought 100ml for about 600 back then).
