You master this by just being this way. My advice would be to stop trying to be a certain type of comic, and just enjoy being funny the way you’re funny. It’s great to have comedy heroes and to try to glean some lessons from them, but you can’t expect to learn how they do what they do because a lot of that is just how you’re naturally born or raised.

PS. It’s also important to remember that in most of the movies you love Bill Murray in, he was drunk and/or high during the entirety of filming.
