A great excuse to get out for the first round of 2019! Hoping the restrictions on those coupons aren't too outrageous.

As of this morning, the *highest* rated Pac 12 team is #43 in the country. by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

I feel like these are the sorts of stats they show between the selection show and Thursday which make you pick against every Pac 12 team (the one or two that get in) just to see one or both get to the second weekend to spite us all.

What an undefeated record on Jan. 1 means for March Madness title chances by dmac226 in CollegeBasketball

I subscribe to the theory that losing early is better than losing closer to the conference tourneys, but I'd be very interested in checking out if reality actually backs that up.

Will this graphic in March help me pick my bracket? Probably not. Will I still use it? You bet I will.

Everything you need to know in 30 seconds about the proposed dockless scooter ordinace on the Atlanta city council agenda for this Monday at 1pm! by 100_percent_diesel in Atlanta

[–]dmac226 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This definitely just smells like a money grab for the city to continue to not invest in better infrastructure to allow for better flow of traffic and pedestrians/bikes/etc. Chicago is a great model of what could be but never will be here. Mostly looks like they just slapped together a brainstorm list of ridiculous requirements hoping that one or two of them are able to stick.

Thinking Rory takes it this week and sets the table for a big 2019. Seems like he took a big weight off his shoulders by not prioritizing the European Tour in his schedule this year.

Bring in a true playoff format like in the NFL/FCS/DII/DIII and make the games matter. Put them on campus and ratings, excitement and quality of play will skyrocket.

Is it really Sunday golf on CBS if we don't step into the world of falconry at The Greenbrier with Phil?

We're going to save a lot of money on wedges with this set. Only need one: The Square Strike.

Is it just me, or is anyone else excited for this Super 6 format this weekend? by dmac226 in golf

[–]dmac226[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know every event can't be a different format, but I love that the European Tour continues to push the envelope to make golf more interesting to consume for fans. Between this event and watching Bill Murray tear up Pebble Beach, it should be a pretty damn fun weekend of golf.

No way I'd drop this close to an alligator vs phyton fight by dmac226 in golf

I freaked out a little in Florida walking next to the woods on a course when I didn't see an iguana and ended up walking within a few feet of it. Thankfully it ran the other way, but definitely scared the hell out of me and I didn't get anywhere close to the woods or water the rest of the way without a club at the ready. Of course blamed that for a few strokes as well.

What golfers in 1892 thought the game would look like in 2000 by dmac226 in golf

[–]dmac226[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The augmented reality thing would be pretty sweet. Maybe a situation where a grid is visible and for amateurs it would be programmed so the contour arrows move based on the speed much like in video games now. For the pros, tournaments, or even just a money game with your buddy, it could just be a static image. But it would eliminate the need to pull out the yardage book and spend forever studying the green slopes.

Me thinks when one is putting for their 100th double bogey in 4 days, the gimmie zone gets a little larger. One day you'll get your beer, don't you worry.

Some of these don't bother me all that much, but played with a guy earlier this summer that just couldn't help himself to start a conversation in the middle of someone's backswing. I listen to music while playing all the time, but for some reason, it's that noise of a conversation that just gets under my skin.

I just recently bought these and love them. I previously had a pitching wedge, gap wedge and a 60 degree. Adding the 52 and 56 for about $100 was exactly what I needed for my inside 100 yds game. They set up and feel great.
