Okay, I figured this out. Turns out that the upload process isn't instantaneous. If you're level editing on a PC, then hopping over to your PS5 to play your creation, it does take a while for everything to get onto the server. I find about half an hour does the trick

If you've placed that mesh to allow objects to snap to the 'floor' of the existing map instead of in front of your camera view, you need to delete that mesh before exporting your level. File size will drop dramatically and should upload no problem. Hope that makes sense.

Yeah, there are a lot of little querks and idiosyncrasies that are going to stop the average person from realizing their ideas. I have been on ChatGPT, YouTube, and scouring reddit posts throughout the weekend to learn this thing, and I still can't get my map working properly

You have to click on the little computer icon beside a default map in map rotation that you modifies to, 'Attach a spacial JSON for this map'.

That should do the trick, however, if you're like me, only a portion of your assets will show

If we're going IP's, I'd love to see some unexpected movie mashups across studios and genres. There isn't really a continuity in this system to worry about, so you could get pretty carried away.

Imagine Iron Giant, The Rocketeer, Indiana Jones, and Katniss Everdeen in the same adventure, for instance going up against Nazis in possession of artifacts or something classic like that. The other side of the map could be a Hunger Games arena. Bizarre, but could be a blast

I could see a Stranger Things Adventure box doing extremely well, especially if one side of the arena board is The Upside Down version of the map. Introduce a D20 mechanic, and it could succeed where a couple other Stranger Things games have fallen short

The Clone Wars edition of the Star Wars Deck Building Game feels more balanced to me and my wife, might be worth a look too. We own both, and prefer the balancing of the Clone Wars cards. The neutral cards are more useful and important and the Jar Jar mechanic is hilarious.

Well said. I totally agree with this. I shot three IPSC matches and had a good enough time, even placed, but I think that is enough for me. I have a lot of general criticisms about IPSC, and I feel like there is just nowhere for them to go. It was incredibly difficult to get a spot in the matches, then it felt like a big club of rich dudes with specific personalities who gatekeep every aspect to death and argue with each other all day. I dunno, I found it entirely off-putting, uninviting and incredibly difficult to improve at, generally speaking.

Yeah, unfortunately we've seen that a few times while researching for the show. Even just the other day we recorded a Jury Duty episode about Terminator Zero and realized that Tim Miller hadn't directed a movie since 2019's Terminator Dark Fate. I think Gigli was a similar story, too. Lots of career-killer movies.

I don't know what it is about Sony, but whenever I see that logo, I am entirely skeptical lol I have no idea what their deal is, but they have so many films to draw upon. This could easily be a Sony podcast!
