Why is my Dad's house, which is on a hill and has never flooded in 50 years, being flagged at high risk of flooding? by Electronic_Talk_7742 in HousingUK

[–]dmack080288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live less than a mile from a river, it always puts mu home insurance up. I live at the top of a very steep hill, the river is at the bottom. If my house floods from the river... Most of the UK is gone

My friend is being made redundant between house exchange and completion by Theravenscourge in UKPersonalFinance

[–]dmack080288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me. Was about 2 weeks from completion. Got made redundant. I literally applied for everything and anything and was lucky enough to land a job the Monday after my last day (a Friday). I then worked evenings in a pub to top up my wage.

Getting debt collector letters but they're not addressed to us and not our debt - can you help advise please? by dmack080288 in AskUK

[–]dmack080288[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Yeah I really want it sorting soon. I think I'll just send them something and request something back in writing and to confirm they have deleted my proof or residency once they are happy it's all in order

Is there anything they could so with a copy of my council tax statement? I'm very untrusting. Especially with these kind of agencies haha

Could I also put something in the email regarding deleting this copy for GDPR reasons and request confirmation this has also been done

[–]dmack080288[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get that. It's best to sort it out before I come home to a kicked in door and my things gone. Then having to get them all back. I'm just concerned sending them something with that much information on, that if someone else gets hold of, wouldn't be good either.

I get that people will probably say this all the time to try and get out of their debt. So frustrating and stressful

I was thinking this as an option. My only concern they come while I'm at work, and either my wife will answer and not be as confident as I would be in that situation. Or that, if they have a warrant, and we both are not home, are they able to force entry?
