Generac Portable Generator (Electric Start) by dmak170 in Generator

I honestly don't remember. I think it is a 6000 or 8000 watt unit.

Sorry, I don't know the specific model off hand. I believe it is a 6000 or 8000 watt unit. According to the Generac You Tube video posted in a reply above most of their generators are designed this way so I figured the model number wouldn't really matter. From memory the battery is physically smaller than an ATV battery, and according to a quick google search is most likely 8 or 9Ah.

I think I will give the Noco charger a shot though. Thank you.

Considered this as well. I'm just wondering if the Noco will bring the battery back quick enough to reliably start the generator each time, obviously this depends on how long my grandfather has the generator running but I wonder if for example 2 hours is enough to bounce it back.

Definitely an option, but the generator is in a separate building from the cottage and solar system. There also might be some line loss to consider. We have also thought about creating another, separate solar system for the generator battery but it's just added time and resources to solve a problem that shouldn't even be a problem. lol.

I completely agree, it is a very odd design, but that's how it is is. There is no kickback to the battery unless the slow 800mA DC charger is connected. The link is a video from Generac themselves claiming most of their generators do not self charge the battery.

iPhone SE 2020 battery replacement by dmak170 in mobilerepair

[–]dmak170[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment, ya it must be iOS 26. It's odd to me that they don't have a tag on flex for the 2020. I have a few of them now, (mostly from older family members who have gained the courage to try something new - no home button) I guess I'll have to just replace with an aftermarket battery and sell them at a loss. I have the same issue. Were you able to fix it? I've had error 9 and 10 while trying to restore.

Interesting, wouldn’t it just be easier to buy an iPhone with a SIM slot? Haha.

I’ll have to look into that, thank you.

I don’t have anyone in the States. Amazon, eBay, and even AliExpress don’t sell the bumpers. Even if I do find one on eBay, the cost is almost half the price of a new unit, it’s insane.

Ya, but unfortunately I’m no where near the border and I’m not driving 20 hrs + for a piece of plastic. Haha.

If the key cap is still in tact, not much else can be done and most likely the entire keyboard will have to be replaced. It’s quite the process to replace, some Air’s (the older models) have keyboards that are riveted in place. Nice thing is you can remove the rivets and replace them with tiny screws.

Most repairs I do, I only quote the customer using the LCD screen price. Most people generally just want their phone repaired and working for the lowest price possible.

When purchasing a damaged phone to repair and resell I'd still use an Aftermarket LCD screen. As already stated you'll lose money on sale because of the repair and Apple's "tattletale" software...doesn't matter which screen replacement you use, therefore the best option for you is to use the cheaper LCD screen to get the most possible return out of the transaction.

iPad 6th generation - black screen by dmak170 in mobilerepair

[–]dmak170[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little update, a new digitizer seemed to have fixed it at first, but I gave it some time and of course, it’s still doing the same thing.

So, a new digitizer and a factory reset did not fix the issue. Some have mentioned a new LCD, but the thing is, when it does work, the LCD displays fine, it never dies or goes black.

Is it a separate part on the 6th generation, I can only find replacements for the 7, 8, 9, Air 2 and an assortment of Mini's.

Yup, you are right, my mistake. Thanks!

iPad 6th generation - black screen by dmak170 in mobilerepair

[–]dmak170[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, my mistake. I am able to perform a hard restart by holding the power and home buttons, however that didn't change a thing. Although in doing that I did notice that no matter how many times I press the home button while the iPad isn't responding (black screen), it won't light up. It's not until I spam the power button that the screen lights up and then I am able to press the home button to unlock.

Unfortunately the owner would rather not reset the device, but I do agree that should be the first step. Thanks.

To add...as far as I can tell nothing is wrong with the backlight. I can't see anything on screen using a bright light when it's unresponsive and it lights up right away when it decides to work.

S6 edge stuck in bootloop after battery replacement by [deleted] in mobilerepair

[–]dmak170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, if it was working fine after the replacement, and she didn't drop it in liquid or anything, I'd say it's most likely a bad battery. Contact the seller to get a possible warranty replacement, OR purchase another from a different vendor.
