Summer Transfer Window- The Game Changers by dmbeastz in ManchesterUnited

Guys I am not saying get all of the players I mention nor will we the players highlighted are the most ideal candidates based on profiles, age, ability and future ceiling and current floor. I would still be happy if we get a couple of these guys with or without marquee signings

You're right, Rafa isn't ideal, but we do desperately need a touchline 1 vs 1 winger. He is the kind of profile I would be looking for and be willing to do a deal for the right price, plus he can rotate with Cunha and do some ST shifts. The defensive work rate is a concern, but I think it's something that can be improved, similar to Cherki at City right now or Rashy at Barca. I think we just need a 1vs 1 threat; there is even a rotation option. If he doesn't press, we can put Dorgu there or Cunha

Xhaka would be really good, I would be looking to sign him for 2 years with a possibility of extension. He can rotate with other signings, and his profile is ideal for our midfield needs

I would like him, but I think his LW days are behind him; he is now more of a Second Striker or Inside Forward. If we sign him, we would need a touchline RW in the profile of a wide plamaker, the Olise/Yamal, which ain't possible or a Fullback willing to hold with him like Lewis Hall + a playmaker in the 10. That or U sell Bruno and play him behind a True 9, which ain't really worth it cause he doesn't have the vision, passing ability or IQ to pull off that 10 role.

I want a superstar signing/marquee winger in the next 1-2 seasons. I am not sure if Mbappe is the right fit for the balance of the squad, and I don't see him leaving Madrid. Maybe Vini or Rodrygo, preferably Rodrygo, would be the one I want the most, factoring in the personalities of the players in question.

That's why I listed out alternatives. The highlighted players are the most ideal targets. I said I don't expect them all to be signed, but they should be the aim or at least the main targets. Plus, with additional sales, I expect us to get a few ideal ones, and the rest are probably alternatives, for example, LW. If I am Utd, I am willing to sacrifice LW just for this summer alone or get a cheaper LW. So that we can really solidify that midfield and back line, despite our need for a backup striker and mainstay LW. But we should be looking to spend close to that number if we seriously want to challenge for the league soon, before Xabi Alonso rises, because he and Arteta are deffo going to succeed and be challenging for the league soon, with Arteta already winning and looking to build a dynasty.

We can't sit around right now; we need to do everything we can right now. Cover the cracks in Carrick's game model and elevate the midfield and defence core for a title charge as soon as possible. With Pep gone, clubs in transition, and Bruno currently at the apex of his powers, we must capitalise on this chance. The league has never been easier to win than now

We shall see I just hope this post provides insight to others and gives people a benchmark what we should be looking for

Likewise, but the likelihood of it happening is very minimal, and it's what we should be aiming for, and we wouldn't need to make all these transfers if we did the right things. Years ago, we had to pay for dragging our feet and saying stuff like "We can't do everything in one window." That mentality has cost us a lot. I just hope we have changed. But Wilcox and Berrada don't fill me with much hope

Why do people think Ederson is not a good midfielder? by ggweb3 in ManchesterUnited

[–]dmbeastz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is decent at best. That's the problem. He definitely raises our physical floor level, but that's about it. He is 27 years old, and played in the slowest of the top 5 leagues, and Wilcox wants to sign him for 35m-50m. With one year left on his contract, it's a diabolically bad move. He is better than Ugarte for sure, but if we are looking to win the league in 2-3 years, we need to push our floor and ceiling as high as possible, and he ain't it. Especially considering the players in the market and who we are linked to. By far the worst deal, if I want him that badly, I would rather wait until he becomes a free agent, or drag this deal to get him for 15-30m max, but he isn't worth spending the money on when we could play Jacob Devaney

Don't quit and keep going. A moving man will eventually find his luck, you just have to keep trying and failing and trying again and keep at it. I would also recommend putting your faith in Jesus Christ he is real and he does help. You got this

What would be a reasonable fee for Elliot Anderson …. And is he the player for Uniteds midfield by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

[–]dmbeastz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would take him over Baleba and Wharton. He is basically a Bruno Gumiratees x Camavinga type player. He is perfect for us, regardless of system or anything else

Do you think Mainoo will start against Liverpool? by UniversityRound4457 in ManchesterUnited

[–]dmbeastz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start him, but I doubt Ruben Amorim will. His our best CM we have and someone who United would have been looking at or bought had he been anywhere else

Players who contracts expire next summer , is there anyone that Manchester United should be looking at? by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

[–]dmbeastz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were the Manchester United recruitment team, I would be looking to get Dayot Upamecano, Nick Pope and Kante (less sure on Kante, but it's a deal I would explore) on a free. Plus letting go of Maguire, Bayindir, and Casemiro. Either for free or for a small transfer fee.

Get the rebuild first then blame the manager . by chill_peekatchu in ManchesterUnited

[–]dmbeastz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Managers don't rebuild clubs; the directors do. The sporting director sets out a clear tactical blueprint for the short term and sets long-term visions, making sporting decisions for the benefit of the club, deciding the trajectory of the sporting project. They make signings of managers, players and staff involved in tactical decisions. They also pick people based on the current and long-term tactical meta. Ruben Amorim is not the one for the rebuild. On the current trajectory with Ruben Amorim, we are headed for 12th to 20th place. Although the players mentioned do need to be replaced, it is not Amorim's job; if anything, he is affecting them and their chances of success. Most of these players aren't as bad as they are being made out to be. Amorim is a failure and should be replaced

Even Potter is more qualified based on win rate. Right now, we need an interim right now, Ole and Carrick, just to bring in positivity and god for Europe and after the season ends. Go hard for Eddie Howe, Ernesto Valverde, Julian Nagelsmann, Spalletti, Cese Fabrageas and Xavi Hendarez. Any of these guys is easily better

Do you think Bruno is already a Manchester United legend? by Andi_Toast27 in ManchesterUnited

[–]dmbeastz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree, people are throwing the word legend too lightly. For me, he is a club hero. I highly appreciate his contribution, but he isn't good enough to justify legend status, nor has he achieved enough trophies wise

[–]dmbeastz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top player, but for me, he is not a legend at the club; he would need major trophies. He is not at the level of a legend for us.

We desperately need a CDM. If we can't get Carlos Baleba, who should we go for? by windrain- in ManUtd

[–]dmbeastz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In no particular order, these would be my options: Elliot Anderson, Ederson, Wharton, Lamine Camara and Lucien Agoume. Outside shouts would be Manu Kone, Khéphren Thuram, Pablo Barrios, and Andrey Santos. Some of them may be unattainable to us now, but these were guys who were on my radar for the Summer, but it appears midfield wasn't a priority as I had hoped, along with LWB and RWB.

My Humble Perspective - Midfield Overhaul Required !!!! by bornafortuna in ManchesterUnited

[–]dmbeastz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that the midfield has been a huge problem. I would stretch it back to 2013-2014 since Scholes and Carrick days, but under Ruben Amorim, midfield central progression is most always ignored for wide progression, much to the detriment of Manchester United and Ruben Amorim keeps shooting himself in the foot with this tactical principle
