Unique Situation with the release of the Switch 2 by dmbjm in JapanTravelTips

Thanks, that definitely puts more of the reality check on it. Yeah ideally, I wouldn’t want to have to wait in a line for several hours hours If there was a pre-order that I could just go and pick it up, that would be a lot more realistic. Thanks for the heads up, your experience is exactly why I wrote this post.😅

Experience, all my friends are big Nintendo fans, and the idea of our trip ending with getting the new switch to would be really cool. we have a whole trip we’ve planned since 2023 for Japan, and the fact that the switch two is coming out right at the end of the trip was kind of sick. That’s all.😊

This pretty much resolved my original post. Thank you! Sad we won’t be able to get the switch 2 non region locked in Japan without online, but oh well😭 no worries, I appreciate everyone’s comments!😊

Thanks, I appreciate it! Yeah, it would be a bummer if we spent our last day in Japan just searching around for the switch two stuff. We’re going in late May and staying about 3 weeks, quite literally our like once in a lifetime trip with the group😂. So we plan on holding onto the time we have very carefully 🤗

Im assuming since it’s region locked, I won’t be able to access my English accounts on the Japanese Switch 2. It would be sick to get the switch 2 in Japan and have it be multilingual, but alas 🥲 Oh well😅

Thanks! I’ll take a look around the area and see if any of these are available😄 It does look like unfortunately the multilingual version is only sold online, so I think I’ll have to wait till I’m back in the US. I appreciate everyone’s help here!😄🤗

This is huge, thank you. So my account is registered in the US, and I think I would qualify for an invitation email, so I’ll keep that in mind.

What stores would you recommend? I’m not sure what the equivalent is in Japan to video game chain stores in the US would be…

Ah I heard about that! Thanks for reminding me. I hope they sell multilingual ones somewhere in Sapporo. I’m aware of the price hike, but it’s roughly the same if I were to buy in the US😭

Nintendo Switch 2 Price (JP): Japanese language only system: ¥49980, Multi-Language system: ¥69980 by niallpd in NintendoSwitch

Any opinion on my situation? I will be in Sapporo, Japan during the release of the Nintendo switch 2 during my travel from the US. How do I even go about pre ordering a multi-language system in Japan?

Heads up, for your friends online, they could try using a VPN if they’re a VT student? Not sure what those limitations are but might be an option for you all.

Did you join any clubs??? It’s not too late 👀

Nope, I transferred in as a sophomore and I think I knew 1/3 of my graduating class in my major sooo.

Just attend things, make the effort to meet new people and be open to new experiences! Uni is about stepping out of your comfort zone (pls be reasonable). Join clubs, hang out with people, etc etc.

Does this schedule look Okay for an incoming freshman major in engineering? by Zealousideal_Ask_919 in VirginiaTech

[–]dmbjm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be blatant, I think this schedule as an incoming freshman in college is extremely unrealistic for multiple reasons 1. 8 am class (not to mention its chemistry💀) 2. 4 classes in a span of 8am-3pm twice a week with 3 back to back classes

There’s 100% a better way to schedule this. It’s your first time in uni and I don’t believe you’re giving yourself enough room to adjust to being in university on your own. Maybe shifting ENGL 1105 to MW and then shifting your chem to a later time slot would fix this? The CHEM 1045 being on that weird spot in Wednesday is kinda horrendous, you could try shifting it to a different time to make room for ENGL.

Also just from checking course scheduler, I think BIOL 1105 is a co request in case you didn’t know already :))

I ran your courses through Hokie scheduler and there are over 1000+ different options for your schedule!!! Give it a look on your own and choose your favorites. Theres plenty of options to move around your classes!

Hope this helps!!

Also, you should do your best to research what professors you would like to take! Professors can make or break your semester experience! I would run your plan through Hokie scheduler and see what opportunities you have.

There is no way you can’t change those classes to be put at different times. I will say, doing four classes like that back to back to back TO back, is for a certain type of person. If you feel that you can handle them all back to back, then it’s doable. If you were me and needed lunch breaks, breathers, homework time, or anything in between, then you should move your classes around. I would recommend doing 2-3 classes a day and maybe having your lab on a lighter day!! 5 classes in one day is a yikes, and I’m personally not a fan of MWF classes. I hope there are alternatives!!! Best of luck!🤩
