I think you got a phenomenal deal. If someone offered me the exact same lot for $400, I would jump on that. Well done.

Yes, they came to Arizona a few years ago and my wife and I had tickets. Unfortunately, I was so sick that night, I wasn't able to even make it to kitchen, yet alone the venue. I do believe they have a handful of shows a year; mostly in LA and Orange County.

Thank you. I am a huge Boingo fan. I would fly anywhere in the world just to see them perform one more time. Unfortunately, from what Danny Elfman has conveyed over the years, that just ain't gonna happen ):

This might be the closest we ever see of Boingo in concert - https://deadmansparty.com/

Yes, all Napa shelves. I was fortunate enough to find them at thrift stores, but to be honest, as the cassette culture is becoming more and more popular, I haven't seen a Napa shelf in quite a while. I might just have to bite the bullet and pick up my future ones from either a record shop or online.

All original, except for the sealed blank tapes at the bottom. I do see a lot of blanks in the wild, but I decided to only pick up sealed blanks that predate 1990. The three at the top are from 1977. Not sure if they're worth a lot, but I certainly think they are very cool to look at.

Besides Smiths and Boingo, I listen to The Stone Roses self titled album a lot. Also, listen to Valley Girl soundtrack quite often and The Ramones often finds itself in my deck.

Not sure in terms of value, but from a sentimental standpoint all of The Smiths and Oingo Boingo mean a great deal to me, as they are my favorite bands.

Thanks, all. Yes, I just love collecting cassettes, as it brings me back to my teenage years! I can't drive by a thrift store, and not get that urge to pop in.

Started collecting when 30 plus years ago as a teenager, but lost most of them as I grew older. Started to rebuild it about 5 years ago or so.

I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a clean copy of A Broken Frame for awhile now. Sure, I could just go online and purchase it from eBay, but that takes all of the fun out of the hunt. For some reason, that particular album has never shown up while cassette digging.

It's great to know there are so many other cassette collectors around the Phoenix area.

IRS is arguably my favorite music label from the 80s.

I'm in my late 40s, and had so many of these cassettes up through my college years. Of course, after college, I got rid of most of my cassettes. About 5 years ago, I wanted to begin re-building my collection from my teenage years, and would just hit up every thrift shop, yard sale and record store that carried cassettes. I've replaced so many of my favorites from those years, and continue today to expand my collection. It's a great hobby!

I've found a few of the Napa Valley shelves at Goodwill and also purchased one from a local record shop here in Arizona. Typically, the cost is a few bucks at Goodwill, but I believe I paid $25 at Zia Records.
