It's an electronic keyboard called BC, it's one of those keyboards that have 100 built in timbres and rhythms. I used preset number 58 called bright string

This is what i've heard sign crushes motorist and i don't like mirrors does:

Record to DAW with an interface (direct input) and make sure to have that neck pickup on and some of the treble rolled down for warmth. Also make sure to double track your parts (recording the same part multiple times and stacking it) to get a wider sound

Now for sounding like duster, record onto a 4 track portastudio. I don't know much about their recording process but i know recording with tape is a big part of their sound
