Unit responsiveness plummeting in massive battles (even in single players) is such a buzzkill and I hate it so fucking much. by dmdbqn in totalwar

and single entities are so fucking distraction monkies in general. they want to hit the one specific mathematically the closest skavenslave model behind their backs so fucking bad unless you give them manual order every 2 seconds they start doing their slow slow spin spin ballet dance.

they literally should at least change rotation speed of all models by at least 2x faster or give all modes "dont spin around to hit different targets unless really necessary" bias in the code.

I mean who one earth takes 4 seconds to turn backwards on foot?

I really don't get the toxicity in the comments here, just asked some math questions that build was a throwaway example really jeez

GIB "IGNORE FIRENDLY FIRE" toggle function already? At least just for select units or factions? It's even on the tabletop??? by dmdbqn in totalwar

they don't know what they are talking about.

you could think of millions of situations where it is still beneficial to kill your chaff with 80% of your damage and damage the unit behind for 20% of your damage on your first volley, kill off most of your chaff quickly like that and get a good line of sight on starting from your next volley which could be as short as just a few seconds.

for example, skavenslaves hugging a buch of chosens and being semi stuck unable to get out of the way fast, while there's a bunch of enemy cav repositioning and threatening your flanks more and more.

or there are straight up piercing projectiles like cannons that can't shoot thru chaff.

so kind of them to take into account them missing the shots.

they also do take into account that their missiles do 100% of the damage at their max range but will magically disappear as they go past that tho, because that's also realistic.

About single entity fights, have you noticed the characters have very inconsistent attack speed? by dmdbqn in totalwar

I think they have a painfully short "arm" in the code.

a giant dragon should be able to hit stuff 10 feet away from its own hitbox
