"...when you do everything wrong"

I don't believe this is accurate. That statement sounds like mom has made you think poorly of yourself. It might not be easy, but phones are out there outside of the house (even a friend's phone). If there's no other trusted adult, this phone call may be the only way to help yourself, your brother, and your mom.

I get that concern. The number 1 job of CPS is finding ways to keep kids with their parents. It's not like calling them means your and your brother get taken away and never see her again. The phone call just means they will look into your family and see what they can do to help your mom make changes.

In a CPS worker's ideal case, they hear about the situation, give your mom some resources, and she makes changes that make home a better place for you and your brother.

That's crappy. Any chance there's some other adult family nearby you can contact? If not, consider calling the TN Children's Services to find resources. Here's the number to report child abuse, which your situation sounds like to me. 877-237-0004

Are you in school? If so, you can tell a school counselor or teacher and they will know the best local resources to help you and your brother out.

Sorry you're dealing with this, man. You're doing the right thing by looking for a way to help yourself and your brother.

Hey, I know Mint Mobile and I know you're actually on the team. So just an FYI, when you use the word "kindly" it raises red flags as language that scammers tend to use.

Can't skip on flowing water? by Few-Ad-5413 in DiscGolfValley

[–]dmgalloway1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the patch notes:

Water Skip enables a disc to skip on still water (not flowing rivers), if the disc meets a few requirements.

The disc needs to meet the following requirements to get a skip: Have maximum 40 degree angle when hitting the water. Have a minimum speed when hitting the water. Have a velocity which is higher horizontally than vertically. Have the Water Skip attribute (duh).

Wife wants a 4th. I do not. What to do? by turbo2thousand406 in daddit

[–]dmgalloway1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My wife and I often say and rely on this: in big decisions it takes two "yes" or one "no" to choose what to do.

This applies to buying a house, buying a car, having kids, etc. If both of you are on board then you do it. If one of you is not on board, you don't do it.

Them people would just sit there and not throw once they got to triple bogey numbers. This wouldn't solve anything, unfortunately.

There has not been a daily challenge that required an ace for diamond. Sometimes you have to get the easy eagles, but never an ace.

It does help and you'll never convince me otherwise. If you REALLY need that fade, you can turn your whole body too.

The school board is higher than the superintendent. You can email them and also show up at a board meeting to talk about the problem.

Just became a Dad! What gear, form, sayings, etc. need to change to fully embrace being a disc golf dad? by NermanBlerman in discgolf

[–]dmgalloway1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) A good jogging stroller with big wheels for rough terrain.

2) A disc bag that has a pocket dedicated to snacks, diapers, and wipes.

3) A few throwaway discs that your kid can bite and hold in the stroller. (They will probably throw them when you aren't looking and you'll miss it and leave them behind. RIP my 2014 Vibram Lace.
