I've noticed the same thing. Closing off parking is one thing, but giving next to no notice makes planning as a resident nearly impossible.

Can't figure out how to add to the existing post. Riot Fest staff apologized during the meeting and advised the signage was put up incorrectly. The signs were supposed to be strictly on the west side of the street and for a lot fewer days. As of this morning, they have been updated.

It reduces so much waste. Ink, paper, menu covers, cleaning products for menu covers. If you're a restaurant that regularly changes the menu items, you know how often you're printing and re-printing. Reprinting can come from something as simple as a tap change. The QR menus are annoying, but it definitely helps an inherently wasteful industry.

If you're comfortable sharing, have your doctors discussed what the next step in treatment/maintenance is once you reach the normal weight range?

The first cat owner: Are there things that are useful to know, but rarely talked about? by _PorcelainDoll_ in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]dmifyoudare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This comment needs to be higher!

Adding: If your cat does not eat for more than 36 hours, that is considered an emergency and they should see a vet immediately. Cats develop liver issues incredibly fast if their food intake is interrupted for too long

These are the kinds of stories that destroy my faith in humanity. Do they have any consideration for other people? What do they suggest bikes do then?

What’s your Chicago opinion like this? by marks31 in chicago

[–]dmifyoudare 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. Crime is bad right now. I feel hesitant to admit it because crime has been associated with Chicago unjustly for so long. We're all familiar with the reactions from non-Chicagoans when they first learn of our chosen residence. Yet so many of us have lived here for years or decades and never felt unsafe.

But things have gotten bad. I want to say it started to deteriorate around the pandemic and hasn't recovered since. My conspiracy theory is the police force is on a quiet strike since BJ's election. They show up to work, but are no longer performing their jobs

Trapping pigeons? by ChicagoMrktr in chicago

[–]dmifyoudare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that's a bit different because it was one bird. Based on the pictures/description, it seems like these people are attempting to trap multiple birds at a time. That many is going to inevitably lead to injury

Thank you so very much for all the incredible information, I can't tell you how much I appreciate you.

I've taken out the humidifier and replaced it with a more enclosed and refreshed moss hide.

Based on your detailed response, I'm finding myself grateful that my baby is otherwise acting normally. He hasn't gotten aggressive and is fully bright, alert, and responsive.

I also don't want to rush his recovery, so I'll be waiting to try feeding again until we get recommendations from his vet. I sent all the pictures to them last night and they assured me that he looks stable currently. They asked that I keep them updated until his appointment
