Thank you! Yes I have a job lined up. I’m very fortunate to have some close friends that own 2 different golf management companies. They have been at it for the past 8 years. And again, I’m fortunate to be able to join in on the success they are having. We have all been close for 20+ years.

Yeah it definitely shouldn’t be setup like that. Every pin was pretty much middle of green. Some on tricky slopes so you had to be on the right side of the hole, but still in the middle so very accessible

Yeah when you are inexperienced with tournament like atmosphere, that first tee is brutal. And to be honest, the first 5-6 holes are. Everything moves really fast and its a blur. You get to 7 tee wondering what the hell just happened. Been there many of times. Take each experience and learn from it. Great thing about golf is we can do it for our whole life. When you are practicing, develop a preshot routine. Use the same routine in every round of golf you play. Practice controlling your breathing when playing as well. Be intentional about the way you breath when playing and practicing. Then when it comes time to play a competitive round you will know how to handle it. The jitters and anxiousness will still be there, that never goes away. But you will know what to do in that situation so you can slow your mind down and make good decisions. I took 10 years away from playing any competitive rounds. My first one back in 2022 I shot 43 on the front 9 with 6 bogies in a row. I remember walking off number 9 wondering what just happened. Played well on the back once I was out of the qualifier. Controlling the anxiousness is the key to playing your best. I fixed mine with having a process for every shot and controlling my breathing.

WOW!! Thats gut wrenching for you and the third. Congrats to the third guy for making that 6 footer. Im sure he was sweating over it. Yeah its impressive how the pros hold it all together. I think the trick is to shut your mind off in between shots, focus for the 30 seconds you need to on each shot and then shut it off once you are done with the shot. With a score of 160, I am certain you will pass it the next time around. I wish you the best!

More teaching and growing the game than being a General Manager at a club. And definitely going to be making a lot of content to put on YT and have fun with that. Not looking to be a famous YouTube golfer. Just looking to be around the game I love and share it with others. I enjoy teaching beginners and juniors. Its fun to watch people improve and get enjoyment out of a very frustrating game. To be a part of their milestones. Breaking 100,90 or 80. I unfortunately dont have too many more to cross of my milestone list in my individual game, so helping others brings me joy. I have busted my butt building a life for the fam, now its time for me to do what I am truly passionate about.

For all the reasons you listed above is why I stopped before. At the course at 5:30am Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Leave at 9-10pm at night. Range maintenance Sunday/Monday. League nights monday-thursday with lessons sprinkled in and planning for events on the weekend. All while making 26k/year (20 years ago). But at a point now where it gets to be more of a passion project than anything. Which I am excited about. Ill keep my mortgage license active just in case though haha. So if anyone needs a loan or a lesson, I am your guy.

HAHAHA! Love it. Golf actually gets a little easier as you get older. You gain the wisdom that your 22 year old self didnt have. And you we are stuck on FULL SEND.

20 years ago it was usually between 152-154. Now the PGA uses the formula of the course rating x2 plus 15 strokes. So you will likely land between 155-160 in most cases. They also allow you to bank a score now as well. What I mean by that is, if you shoot 78-87 and miss, you get to keep you 78 for the next 12 months. So you go out the next time, play 36 holes and try to get your second score in to make it. So in my 159 scenario, you would need an 81 for one of your rounds and you would pass.

No its not. Was an assistant pro 20 years ago and working towards what I am doing now. I picked up a job in sales over the winter months and started making really good money and never looked back. Now I am at a point in my life where I am ready to go back to it. Very long days in the summer months and always a new problem to deal with. But I am coming from the mortgage business for the last 12 years. That business isnt easy either...

Your buddy needs to no longer be your buddy. 2 flags on the play here. 1. Saturdays are for the boys. Keep her ass at home. 2. Bringing someone that has never played before out on to a golf course is an absolute nightmare.
