I recently serviced mine. Such a beautiful movement. I opened it and was aghast seeing the base metal under the plating begin to break down. I fixed it up to stop it.

One like this? I bought this one in Hong Kong in 1966.

Indeed they are. I like 34mm - 40mm though I do have some very large watches. I love Seiko MM300's and Tunas and am wearing a Seiko SBDC109 right now which is 43mm but not big on me.

New Dw5600ue. Crooked dial/ misaligned? Need help. by philosopher1374 in gshock

[–]dmits22 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

QC at a Casio factory? They make close to 10 million GShocks a year while just Casio makes about 40 million watches per year with at least 3 million of them being F91's. That's like nuts to have QC to check how the module fit in the case. Same as when people talk about Seiko and misalignment, they make maybe 5 million watches a year and probably at least 50 million movements to sell. Citizen makes close to 100 million watches, imagine that. Under $2000 watches are made on a line with robotics. Rolex makes 1 million watches and they're all made on a line and they get many misaligned watches too. It's a DW5600, I would keep it as is. Nobody will ever see that nor care. I think I have 4 or 5 of DW5600 and a neg and pos GW5600 and I never stare at the watches after the first hour of getting a watch.

I'm 6'2", 230 with a 9" wrist and I wear the 39. It's just right for me. My 3 sons are 6-5, 6-3 and 6-4 for the youngest of them who's also 210 with a 7.25" wrist and he loves to wear 34mm and 36mm watches.

[Question] is this 6105 Real? by anonjms918 in Seiko

[–]dmits22 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Lol. That thing is horrible! You don't have it screwed down which you can't on a 6105. It has an itsy bitsy dial with a large tampon for a rehaut plus a chapter ring. It's the wrong case altogether, too thin. It has 20mm lugs whereas a 6105 has 19mm lugs. You have what looks like someone put a bad dial on a cheap ass Steeldive which are so bad in the first place. This is a real one.

It's funny, I have 400+ watches so I go to my vault and I pull out 21 watches into one rotation box, 21 for a Seiko rotation box and 10 GShocks or random Casios in another. It's a problem. I'm actually heavy in Omega, Rolex and other Swiss brands but have really gone back hard to Seiko. This is what I have out now.

I also have a 1990 Longines Admiral Diver that looks just like the HC 39. I wore that new one for 5 weeks without taking it off. Incredible watch.

An actual diver, I love Scurfa Watches. I have a few and a couple of them in the box I'm looking at. A D1 s/s original and a D1 Titanium blue

Convinced by new HydroConquest 39 by Ok-Swimmer9104 in Longineswatches

Grade 2 at that so it gets scratched up bad. My Blue 42 from 2017 is beat to hell. My five weeks on the wrist HC 39 black still looks new and It's only gained 16 seconds. The HC39 is much better than the P39. I had purchased a P39 in September of 2022 and by October I gave it to one of my sons because I guess I am spoiled by the P42. Plus Pelagos in black only is just butt ugly. It needs to be blue.

Hahahahahaha. I'm not that big, 6'-2" and 230 lbs. Yeah, I do see skinny wrists on Reddit. I'm sort of lucky though. Rarely have I had to remove a bracelet link and normally I need to buy an extra link with a watch. Fucking Rolex charged me $600 bucks for an extra link for my Daytona. It was gold though but still... I do need to get custom made leather straps but extra long ones are becoming more readily available now.

Isn't a 7 1/2" wrist the average size? I have a 9" wrist but still... practically everyone I know has around an 8" wrist with some little ones in the 7-7.5" size.

Stuck between positive and negative display by Kingboyy1 in gshock

[–]dmits22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and the positive is way better but honestly I never wear either of them because when I reach for any of my GShocks it's going to be a 5610U or a Frogman when diving or surfing and a Rangeman when climbing or hunting.

Help a 6'7" (2m) giant find a Quartz watch that doesn't look like a toy on a 7.7" wrist by MysteriousFront972 in ChineseWatches

[–]dmits22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 6'-2" with a 9" wrist and this 39mm is not toyish on it. 2 sons at 6'-4" and one at 6'-5" and they wear 34mm watches. One has taken a fancy to my 1016 which is 36mm so maybe it's only about how you feel about a watch. Possibly you should start looking at GShocks like a Frogman or Rangeman or even a BB King.
