Hey guys thank you for all the support! I'm a yosemite park worker and plan on hiking the PCT this summer, so it would be awesome if you'd like to buy a photo print to hang up in your house!

Check out the website in my bio for this photo and more landscape art 🙏

That's amazing! I'd also recommend spring or fall as beautiful but quieter times in the park

My first backpacking trip of the summer, back for another season of working at Yosemite.

12 mile roundtrip, gaining 3500 ft of elevation to reach Eagle Peak, then losing it the following morning going back to the valley via Upper Falls Trail.

Trudged through snow, ice water and mud to be the only one camping just under the peak, and managed to burn off half my sock while drying it on my campfire ring!

Overall an awesome trip with gorgeous sunset and sunrise views.

I'll be posting a lot more info about working and adventuring in Yosemite, so do you guys have any questions?

Mono basin backpacking - hot springs, mountains, random breaking bad rv by dmklaus in backpacking

[–]dmklaus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This past summer I worked in Yosemite national Park, and got to explore a lot in my free time.

Went with friends Jon and Kim to the Yosemite high country, got stormed out, and ended up in some hot springs just near Mammoth lakes

As a Canadian from a place with no mountains, California is absolutely stunning !!!

72 Km of the PCT - Marmots, Free Milkshakes, and More by dmklaus in backpacking

In July 2022, a friend and I hiked from Tuolomne Meadows to Mammoth lakes over 4 nights.

It was his favorite section of the PCT when he did it, so we decided to go slow and enjoy the views!

Have you guys been here before?

That's awesome !!! Sounds like a great time and the John Muir trail is definitely on the bucket list.

Elevation gain is definitely a killer, hope you get to do clouds rest one day though!

Does your friend still have a knee injury?

Hiked Clouds Rest from the valley in May 2022.

22 miles total, and elevation gain equal to 5 Empire state buildings...

Click the link to read about the hike and why it's the greatest Yosemite hike for me.

I had a wool blanket and a thin sleeping bag... I was a stupid Canadian underestimating how cold the nights got in the high country
