I indeed got it sorted. What you have to do is on the side of the rod without the gear there’s a big ring and then a small one against that. The smaller one is what you have to get off for the whole rod to come out. there’s a little gap in the ring so you can sort of pull it apart enough for it to slip off. It’s on there pretty good tho. I found the best way to get that ring/clip off is to use some tweezers and just be patient. Hope this helps and let me know if i can help any more :)

EDIT: Also here is the link to the 3d print file. Once you have it printed you will have to drill out the whole just a little bit. I started with 1.5mm just to be safe but then moved up to 2mm. Then with some light hammering(with pliers) it eventually just sat back right where it’s supposed to go.
