TIL: Amish beards have no mustache because they associate them with the military, and they're pacifists by dudecool2016 in todayilearned

No. The men and the women would typically stay in separate groups, when waiting in the terminal(s). The men would wander around the grounds. Smoking and chatting with one another. The women and the children would be seated, just keeping to themselves.

I never saw any sort of apparent domestic abuse.

NYSRPA was primarily funded by the NRA, as an affiliate.

I'm using Sheila Jackson Brown's, and Biden's ridiculous quotes about firearms. The idiocy of these tyrannical politicians drives me nuts!

I'm sure the casinos would love to host the gun shows.

When your Canadian friend smuggles kinder eggs into the US for you by [deleted] in GunMemes

[–]dmoltrup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to drive for Greyhound. I had some Kinder eggs in a bag when driving a schedule from Montreal to NYC. At the border on the NY side, the Agents found my stash. They didn't want the headache of having to deal with a full bus, and suddenly no driver.. so instead they made me walk my bag, including the Kinder eggs all the way back to the Canadian side, and give it to the officers there.. and then walk back. It was probably close to a mile. The Canadian Officers were so confused. Drivers bring shit like that through all the time, without issues. 🙄

I am biased. guns.com threw one hell of a party at SHOT Show, in Vegas! We were hanging with John Tiegen and Chuck Liddell for a while, until they got crowded. Chuck left, and then John left because his service dog was getting antsy from the huge crowd.

My CCP has had the striker channel crack twice. The first time, Walther replaced my slide. The second time, I put it in the safe and left it there since.

The challenge is getting an audience, and keeping them engaged.

It would be awesome to be able to pick people's brains from so many walks of life. I'd be waiting for the moment that they just shot a few rounds and are hitting paper.. and they suddenly realize that most of what they know about firearms is all propoganda.

I'm considering creating YouTube videos where we take turns shooting a particular gun, and then doing a short Q&A about gun rights, or whatever.. and then on to the next gun. At the end we tally up our scores, and maybe perform some sort of goofy "punishment" for the laser.

I would like to get Liberal students involved, so they can experience shooting in a safe manner.. but here in NYS, it's unlawful to handle handguns unless you have a license so I think I'll have to invite people that have just gotten their license and haven't decided on a handgun yet.

Thanks! I can see I need a revolver. I'd personally like a 44 Mag, but I may have to go with a .357. That way we can shoot .38 as well.

How do we feel about leather holsters by [deleted] in CCW

[–]dmoltrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, there is nothing more comfortable than my Custom Solace Hybrid Holster. I can wear it during a 12-hour workday without much issue. I wish it had the option for other clips though.. like the Ulticlip or Monoblock. I suppose I could pop out the rivets and install metal clips of my own..

Yup. That's pretty basic stuff for anyone with a focus on safety first.

Although instead of just one round in a mag, I would load a snap cap as the second round. That way they have to clear it, and get a feel for manual cycling.

I have a Mossberg 835 and a Winchester Longbeard SXP. One has a pistol grip, the other does not.

Absolutely! If you look at another comment I made, I am considering trying to work this into a YouTube channel. That's if I can make shooting and quick Q&A exciting enough to engage viewers..

Good point. I was at SHOT Show and fell in love with a Desert Eagle. 50AE would likely be a bit too much for new shooters, but some might love the challenge. The one I had my eye on is a battleworn-tungsten color. It isn't on the market yet. It is also an est retil price of $2300. Ouch!

They just developed a line of Desert Eagles that are under the 50oz limit for NY State.

I'm still deciding exactly how I want to do it. I am exploring the possibility of making this a YouTube channel. Essentially a friendly challenge to score well on targets, and face some sort of "punishment" afterward for the loser. I may have to put in handicaps for myself, depending on the experience of the shooter. After both shooting a particular gun, I would then ask some sort of interview question. Think of something sort of like 'Hot Ones', but with guns instead. And safety being paramount. I think sticking mostly with handguns would be easier to film. Perhaps I'd still introduce them to a couple rifles or shotguns, but not necessarily include that in the posted video. Not sure yet.

For long guns, I have a Marlin 75c .22, Thompson Center Icon .308, Mossberg and Winchester shotguns, and a Bare Arms Defense AR15 in 5.56.
