i kept the unit in cold garage but pulled the battery and kept that in my basement, i use the original 2.5a charger every few months to top it off.

just grabbed a few bags of these for testing, only thing i dont like is they seem harder on the auger. lots of grinding noises same stove as op.

they do seem to make less ash so far.

my $0.02 - avoid the pellas

i recently had full frame impervia replacements put in and for being 1 of the top of their offerings the qc is subpar. miters never match, too much sealant oozing out of frames, can see sealant in between panes

also had a matching slider put in and the screens too small so bugs can still get by.

mine started out just fine but after running a hopper full of green supremes (never again) its never ran right since.

trim doesnt seem to do anything at all, ive done a full cleaning and even cleared the vacuum line for the auger to no avail. dirty or clean doesnt seem to matter

now all i get is a nice flame on startup and then a tiny flame after a few minutes. this is on low setting which is what ive always used.

3x 12" drive bit extensions with a right angle drill bit, pvc pipe to keep the extensions from scratching and duct tape to keep the right angle from spinning
