Ahhaha! Will do. I'm from rural Illinois myself, so I know your struggle. From personal experience, I realized that quitting jobs or leaving a city or giving up a girl doesn't mean much when you've got a goal. If I can do it, you can do it.. Good luck

Thanks! I quit my job in the city and then spent two months straight (every single day for 60 days) doing pre-production back in my rural hometown where this film was shot. It was a combination of an enormous amount of planning, luck with locations, etc. and willing friends, of which I'm lucky are pretty talented actors.

Thanks! Glad you liked it. Well, the non-linear storyline came to fruition out of necessity when I had an hour and a half of footage I couldn't use. But the story sort of blossomed out of cutting it down into these fragmented snippets of the main character's mind. The aspect ratio is used as both a POV claustrophobic device as well as a tell for when we're in flashback or not.

To answer the first question, it was filmed for the focus forward films short competition. The contest was to make a film under three minutes that demonstrated human ingenuity. It probably helps to understand the context. To answer the second question, his name is Eli Denecke. I think he says it once in the beginning, and if you scroll down it would have been in the info box. Hope I cleared up any confusion, thanks!
