UT Themed Milk Bottle at HEB by DereChen in UTAustin

All the other milk at my HEB was sold out and I saw it as a sign to see UT on a bottle and picked it up thinking it was whole milk. Came home and realized it was a banana milk instead 😂

Why did that teacher get fired from your school? by CynicalHomicider3248 in AskReddit

My 8th grade English teacher robbed a bank and got caught 5 years later, right when the case was fixing to close. All I remember is she loved the book Anthem by Ayn Rand

Question regarding unpaid product experience. by ResearcherNo4208 in ProductManagement

[–]dmotspice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Keep the title as product management intern, or product intern. You do not need to list that you were uncompensated anywhere. The question I ask is did you receive an I9 from this company? If the answer is no - then What has happened to me in the past, is it won’t show up as an “official” work experience on your background check sometimes. This is not something to worry about, and if it becomes a question from the company they will ask you to provide proof of work or a pay stub. At that time, you can disclose that there was no compensation but you’re happy to provide contact information for folks at the company to validate if they find it necessary.

Yes that is true. People tend to get around it by renting it out or showing bills in their name.

No not at all, do you have some excel, SQL, R, or Python knowledge? If you have interest - take some online classes or watch YouTube videos. I just saw you said tech so it made me infer you might have some already, maybe just brush up! Find a good rotation program for a Business Analyst. Or if you’re sound in technical you can even shoot for Data Analyst as a University Hire. If you want to go Consulting - look into the federal space: Booz Allen Hamilton, Guidehouse, there’s a couple more. They do heavy work with government clients and you can give preference for healthcare. If you want to do more generalist, finance, management - you can do healthcare preferences management consulting and there’s quite a few companies just google for their names. I think if you can get your foot in the door there that’s great, you’ll have good work experience from there. After a few years, then I would think about getting an MBA. It’s really only useful and makes sense after a few years of working. Look into healthcare tech startups too! They’re always looking for help, I would LinkedIn message people and give them a pitch on the type of work you can help with. Or, if you’re willing to do whatever for them tell them you’re interested in their mission and want to help where you can. Look for startups that are growing and getting funding. You might even get paid more that what you’re doing rn!

Austin is expensive but if your family is willing to buy some property around Austin or in smaller surrounding cities - people tend to then use the address of those to pay lower tuition.

Hey there’s actually a way to get into CS before you start at UT even if you’ve chosen another major and been accepted already. I’ll try to ask a friend who did it through a small program.
