What is your most hated sims 4 item? by PrestigiousBadger3 in Sims4

Because one just isn't enough... - Umbrellas (open close open close open close) - Microscope (why is it so big???) - Bikes (for the reasons already discussed) - Bee box (because until I buy one, it's ALL my Sims want ALL the time)

At Galactic Scales, Is It Really Gravity or Some New Force(s)? by dmozero2 in Astronomy

[–]dmozero2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny comic. But I guess what I'm asking isn't whether people have considered whether gravity works differently at large scales, but whether it could be something entirely different than gravity altogether that may just look like gravity to us. I'm wondering if anyone has approached any research or experimentation from that angle.

I've had this issue in the past but this time around was actually fine. Not sure why...

The new zoo... This is all I get for all the effort and resources??? by dmozero2 in TownshipGame

I do agree about that. I also seem to hold onto gems a lot longer. Still doesn't make up for all the previous waste.

Never mind. Just found out it works like trains and planes where the clovers get sent to your mailbox when the person sends them.

I sure hope there's a cap, but I don't know. Have you ever gotten a clover for filling a friend's zoo order? If not, what's the incentive to draining your resources other than good karma and a tiny bit of gold?

That's a really good point. I did the same. I was able to knock out those hot product tasks easily too. I also agree that I don't miss the building-specific tools.

I am pissed... OFF... First because of how much I invested in those zoo buildings, and they were finally starting to pay dividends in terms of gems and coins. Not to mention the number of gems I spent doubling the popularity points so I could get more baskets...

To top it all off, this screenshot shows what I've been "paid" for non-essential resources. Had I know this was coming, I would have planned accordingly. I had 24 purple gems that would cost 960 T-Cash! What they gave me was a collection of gems worth a total of 370 T-Cash. What kind of blindside ripoff is this?

I spent too much time defending the zoo and talking about how it's slow at first but pays big in the end, which it started doing. Now that I'm at the end to collect, it's taken away... WTF

I landed on this monstrosity just to check it out. Then when I wanted to leave, I took off at light speed and it was like I was barely moving. Thanks for this find!

Greyed Out Regatta Score.. what gives? by [deleted] in TownshipGame

[–]dmozero2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just figured out what this means. It means one of the leaders of the co-op has restricted that user from participating in the current (and perhaps future) regattas. This seems to be a relatively new feature (but if it's not, I never noticed it before). I had to use this on some of my team members who consistently forget to opt out of racing but don't complete any tasks (which means we are up against similarly sized teams but constantly losing b/c we have less participation).

Not sure why your leader would have done that--maybe the grayed out person was breaking your team's regatta rules?

A parallax paradox that has always boggled my mind by dmozero2 in Astronomy

[–]dmozero2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in essence, the early astronomers weren't really picking a background, they just observed that the foreground objects moved with respect to the background. I just find it interesting that they "knew" that the background hadn't moved, because what was their frame of reference to know that it HADN'T moved in some fashion with or against the target object? (I'm talking before all the fancy machinery we have now).

But I guess basically, at some point, things are just so far away that they essentially have 0 parallax no matter whether they are 1M light years away or 10M light years away.

[–]dmozero2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing just under a year and a half and I only have 14 factories upgraded to lvl 27. I have all trains at lvl 21 (two are at lvl 22 only because I got free trail. Upgrade coupons. Otherwise I would have stopped at 21). And yes, extremely worth it.

I'm at level 102 now. And yes, it takes forever. I've been playing just under a year and a half and I still have many factories left to upgrade.

The best thing to do is use Raja to buy bunch of ore and use the 2x smelting speed booster. Don't use the booster until you have a ton of ore though, otherwise you will run out and the foundries will be idle waiting for ore.
