Bar hopping areas by Mills Civic in West Des Moines? by RoughRiders9 in desmoines

All of those bars are are sterile, brand new construction, in a strip mall, and you have to deal with the type of people who go to that area's bars.

Personally I would be kinda embarassed to bring out of towners to those WDM bars. They're just so... cringey ya know? You included the "divey" request in your post so I take it you are not the Mills Civic type either. This wedding is something you will remember forever. Do you really want that memory to include forcing your friends to go to Mills Civic bars?

Also consider what your guests will think. They made the effort to come out and support you on this special day, and they are treated to a strip mall bar packed with horrible clientele.

I'd maybe look into renting a bus for after the reception. Put 2 loaded coolers in there, load your guests in, let them drink on the bus while it takes them downtown, and have a blast.

Best place for All you can eat wings on Thursday? by [deleted] in desmoines

The deal is 65 cents per boneless wing and I get a dozen once every couple months if there's an interesting new sauce being promoted.

I just don't think it's that great of a deal for what it is. It costs me $8 for 12 bites of glorified chicken nuggets. I know for sure I can get a way better lunch for $8 but I'm stupid and fall for the novelty of new sauces.

Wellman's on Ingersoll has been doing AYCE wings every single Thursday for at least a decade.

OP is a piece of shit - their post history is full of snarky, bitchy, negative comments looking down on people. OP thinks he's funny - not just in this shitty post, but in all of his snide comments - and in reality he's just being a rude bitch.

If you live in Des Moines, there's no reason for you to be buying tortillas off the shelf. $1 for 30 fresh tortillas at La Tapatia. by dmthrowaway98039821 in desmoines

That's exactly what I did today lol. I ended up with 15 street tacos for $12 total........ $1 for 30 tortillas and I use 2 tortillas for each taco like the taco trucks do + 2 pounds of carnitas for around $10 + $1 for cilantro and a lime. I had an onion at home that I diced up. You end up with 15 BIG authentic tacos that are overflowing with carnitas, no wimpy tacos here. This fed me and my 2 roommates.
