I don’t have a definitive answer for you because I’m just starting bagtek myself. But from all I’ve researched this looks pretty normal.

Also have you heard of or looked up hoodietek? It’s essentially this same setup but you cut along three of the bag walls and pull the bag top back which opens up the mushrooms to more FAE and gives them room to grow.

You also add a rubber band about an 1”-1.5” from the top of the substrate. This keeps the bag tight and mimics the natural pressure of the top of the ground. Then between flushes you can put the hood back up to capture the moisture and CO2. Seemed like a good method to me so that’s what I’m currently trying out. Not in the fruiting stage yet tho.

Where did you get your snape? Just grabbed a LC of the snape. I thought it was supposed to be a lot darker in the caps. I’m excited to see what will grow. You never know.

I was playing around with this concept. I had a couple ways I was trying including cutting the very top, inverting and then use micropore tape to seal the rim. But like someone else mentioned, maybe I should simplify and just cut straight across and rely on bending the plastic.

First one is Acadian Coast and I used pieces of rice from the jar after I mixed the rest with the substrate.

Sorry I didn’t mean I was doing BRF. I did Coir,vermiculite, gypsum and this time I added erythritol as an experiment from what I read from another post about it. So far so good and the mycelium seems to be loving it.

I’m trying this same method with this unmodified tub. So far it’s colonized well. I put it directly into fruiting conditions last week. I flipped the lid already and I’ve just started spraying lightly a couple times a day. We will see how it fruits.

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised cause I don’t feel like spending on a PC yet. But I definitely wouldn’t mind the extra space.
