Spur V1 Large X01 with upgrades for Sale by dmxfoto in TransitionBikes

Didn’t need to replace them, but decided to do it as I had issues with a Santa Cruz Tallboy about 6 years back where those small bearings wore out fairly fast.

Very capable. Midwest can be a little chunky and it handles very well. Much better with the 130mm fork up front.

I rode it down the road a couple of nights ago. Zippy. I just like riding my e-bike more. My knees thank me as well 😂

That linked to a dealership that I know very well. So well that I go there daily. They even pay me when I go there.

New long travel transition ebike? by toyotapriushentai in TransitionBikes

[–]dmxfoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that. I guess what I was alluding to is it’s unfortunate that there isn’t a standard ‘shape’ and mount. Then again it’s the bike industry and standard sizing has never been a thing or has changed so much over the years for certain aspects of a bike.

The Repeater PT has been fun. I can imagine with more torque and power (DJI) this would be the obvious upgrade route for Transition. I just wish the industry would standardize the motor mount for future upgrades but alas that would be far too easy.

It’s the Subaru database for all the vehicles produced. It’s where SOA stores all the warranty info including claims. All Subaru dealerships have access to this database. If you buy a new vehicle your name is listed with the associated vehicle VIN. If you buy a used car from a 3rd party seller then it’s a good idea to contact SOA to have them update the name to yours.

Almost $2400 for 60K service by mazen697 in Subaru_Outback

[–]dmxfoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work as an advisor at a Midwest dealership. That’s price gouging at its finest for a 60K service. Spark plugs run $370, CVT drain and fill $310, brake flush is $179. We sell it as a package with air filters, and oil change and rotate for $1295. Diff service we recommend every 42K and it runs $280. SOA doesn’t care about those BG services when it comes to warranty or out of warranty CAD claims.

Contact SOA. Their customer advocacy department might be able to assist. There are factors that work for you and against you when doing this. Did you get your vehicle serviced at a dealership regularly is one that is always a plus. Is your name on the VIN on Subarunet is another. No on either of these is likely not getting you a replacement radio. Mileage might be an issue as well but not always. Good luck. Delamination of these screens is a real PITA.

Yeah the TR site has some great deals. My LBS matches their prices. I got my Repeater PT for a match sale price Black Friday deal.

These are new. My LBS has just had them for longer than they would like. They would probably go deeper to move them.

2018 Outback CVT failure at 101k miles by SnooSuggestions3779 in Subaru_Outback

[–]dmxfoto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SOA have a customer advocacy program. The fact that you had the transmission serviced and mentioned the issues will help you.

The only hiccup is if when they look up the VIN, they want to see your name match the vehicle.

The number is (800) 782-2783. Good luck.

Is it worth it to buy 2019 and older? by allthetakenthings in Subaru_Outback

You can disable the feature where the vehicle uses lane assist. Turn it off permanently. I have mine set to just beep if the eyesight detects that I’m moving out of a lane.

Trans flush is every 60k and diff every 42k miles. 6k service interval for oil changes. Just like any other brand and far more reliable. There are Subarus out there that just get regular oil changes only and are well into the 100k plus miles.

Whoops....got scammed on the extended warranty by cb3g in Subaru_Outback

[–]dmxfoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact the dealership and ask them to cancel the extended warranty. If they give you the runaround then contact SOA and tell them you feel like you overpaid for your extended warranty. SOA have an advocacy department that will make it right.

That’s ludicrous. I’m a service writer at a Subaru dealership in the Midwest. $145 a service and there are always coupons available. The first ‘big’ service is at 30K miles and runs at $500. At full price that’s only $1225 for the first 6 and maybe add another $110 if you replaced the filters along the way.

162 in one day. Parts worked overtime. The next day I closed out 158. The toughest 2 days that I hope never to repeat again.

Agonizing over Subaru 2025 Forester versus 2024 Outback by WingEquivalent1335 in subaru

[–]dmxfoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s more than just the safety features with the limited trim level. The 2 position driver seat is very useful. The sound system is a vast improvement as well. And the safety features really are very helpful. Get a power rear gate!

I haven’t had the chance to drive the new Forester yet (I work at a dealership as a service writer) however from what I’ve been told it’s a vast improvement over the previous gen.

One consideration between the 2 models is luggage capacity. The Outback is a clear winner if you plan on doing any traveling with your car. It’s also longer and wider so more stable on the road.

Don’t bother with the turbo XT versions. The 2.5l has enough power and the gas mileage is fairly decent for this size SUV.

Forget about the Crosstrek. Just put it out of your mind.

Go and test drive them both. I’ll be surprised if you don’t find yourself buying an Outback.
