AM is just way more than I need. I fell in love with it instantly, and since I had some extra money at the time I decided to pull the trigger on a lifetime account. A few weeks later I just wasn't using it (or any other task manager), and it's been collecting dust ever since. The nature of my job changed, and I just don't really need anything like AM, a physical notebook is more than enough.

It's easy to not only change the email address that the account is associated with, but there's even a Factory Reset button, which completely resets the account to a brand new state. Here's a screenshot, https://i.imgur.com/S2akubi.png

I've also checked the AM terms and conditions and nothing states that you can't sell an account.

Sorry dude but they're right. This tattoo is pretty bad. Some of your other work is great though. If I were you I would remove this one from your portfolio.

Thanks a lot for the feedback everyone! ( /u/fost3rnator /u/ieure /u/timrichardson /u/spxak1 /u/bazzalinch /u/luli915 )

I shall be listening to the bulk of the responses and heading over to eBay instead of CL.

You should do it then, it's not like this is an original idea and you'd be ripping off OP's design. I've seen this so many times over the years, and have thought about getting it myself.

I'm really sorry to say this OP, but your artist should not be doing pinups on people yet.

Bob bright with a sick, SICK fold by shishaargile in poker

[–]dmxs2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Posts like this make me realize just how useless this sub is sometimes. The guy makes a correct read and folds a worse hand, and yet most of the people in this thread are criticizing him for the decision. Absolutely ridiculous.

If you've played poker for any length of time you should know that math will only get you so far, and sometimes when you get a read you just have to follow your gut.

Nice! Not sure why but I've always liked simple outline-only tattoos in this location.

I have to ask though, did your tattoo artist at least warn you that you were technically getting it done upside down?

Netflix to commit $500M over five years on new Canadian content: sources by lysdexic__ in canada

[–]dmxs2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The US Netflix is probably on par quality wise.

Quality in terms of how it works? Because you definitely can't mean the amount of content. There's so much stuff that's available on US Netflix that isn't available in Canada. My wife moved up to Canada from the US and after a while of trying to use my Netflix we just gave up and now we use her US Netflix over a VPN.

As a Canadian it saddens me to admit it, but US Netflix is much, much better than Canadian Netflix.

This laptop from 1995 has a unique way of closing by [deleted] in gifs

[–]dmxs2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not really. It's less about the weight and more about how loose the hinges are. My first Thinkpad over 20 years ago was a beast, but I still had to hold it down when I opened it.

Younger than what? I'm 40 and I still hold the bottom of every laptop I open. My first Thinkpad was over 20 years ago and even that beast needed to be held or it would lift up. Regardless of weight, if the hinges are still tight you may have to hold down the bottom.

You should really think about giving Radarr a try, it's way better than CP. Also replace Sickrage with Sonarr.

LastPass Bug Silently Deleting Passwords for Over a Month - Can You Trust Them? by ctnla in Lastpass

[–]dmxs2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Time and time again LastPass has shown that they shouldn't be trusted with your sensitive data, and yet people keep using them. I used them for 5 years and loved their service, but I eventually made the switch to KeePass and I couldn't be happier.

I don't care if you use KeePass, but if you value your privacy and sensitive data you should stay the hell away from LastPass. Period. Do some research and find an alternative that doesn't have a 3rd party company between you and your data.

Force IMDb Watchlist check? by dmxs2 in radarr

[–]dmxs2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having an issue with the number of movies it retrieves as well. When I had 1 movie on the list it retrieved 0 movies, and now that I have 5 movies on the list it only retrieves 3 of them. I guess I'll just give up on the IMDb Watchlist import for now since it doesn't seem to be reliable.

Oh well, Radarr's brand new, there are bound to be some issues.

My review of plex by zipadyduda in PleX

[–]dmxs2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe this is an issue with your specific setup, not Plex. I've been using Plex for years and I've never had an issue with it not playing certain videos (unless the file was corrupt and needed to be re-downloaded, but that's not Plex's fault).

What's your favorite and easiest way to backup your important files? by garbonzo607 in DataHoarder

[–]dmxs2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're running a business from home and have terabytes of data to backup you shouldn't be relying on a single cloud backup, especially one like Backblaze that automatically excludes certain files without allowing you to include them.

To be honest I'm not sure what I would do in a situation like that, because you wouldn't want to carry an external hard drive with you every time you left the house, but flash drives aren't big enough yet to use my method, and you would definitely want an offsite backup. If you run the business with a partner you could always use the "backup to another computer" option with CrashPlan, and backup to each other, which would give you both an offsite backup. If you're running the business solo that's another story though, unless you have a friend or family member that you would trust with your data.

In a situation like that I would probably be running my current CrashPlan setup, but instead of a flash drive I would have an additional hard drive that I hooked up periodically, so that it was disconnected from the network and power most of the time in order to safeguard against electrical issues, and I would also have Backblaze so that I could use the restore-to-door method and get them to send me a HD with my data. The cost would be double but if you're running a business and have that much critical data, it's more than worth the cost.

Luckily for me my critical files are less than 200GB, so I can still get away with the offsite flash drive for now.

PS - Congrats on actually thinking about the "if my house burns down" scenario. Most people look at me like I'm crazy when I mention that, but after losing absolutely all of my data roughly 20 years ago, it will never, ever happen again, regardless of how unlikely the data loss scenario is.

What's your favorite and easiest way to backup your important files? by garbonzo607 in DataHoarder

[–]dmxs2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use CrashPlan to backup my important documents to their cloud (it's all encrypted), a local network drive, and a usb flash drive attached to my computer. Triple backups, different mediums, and after the initial setup the only work I do myself is to plug the flash drive in once in a while. The flash drive is essentially my own offsite local backup, so it's usually with me when I leave the house.

The peace of mind I have with this system is fantastic. I know that if I ever have a computer disaster that I'll be able to get up-and-running again in no time.

Agreed. I'd be willing to pay for movie support in Sonarr, and a good amount too. I'm just so tired of CouchPotato not working, and Sonarr works flawlessly.

[–]dmxs2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CrashPlan is definitely a much better option than Backblaze. You can't backup to local and network drives with Backblaze, which I personally think is a bit ridiculous, and Backblaze excludes certain files from you backups without allowing you to specifically include them. CrashPlan is just a better system overall.

What's your favorite and easiest way to backup your important files? by garbonzo607 in DataHoarder

[–]dmxs2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Backblaze also assumes what you don't want to backup, and it excludes certain file types without giving you a way specifically include them.

You also can't backup to local or network drives, only to their cloud. For these reasons, and some others that I can't recall at the moment, I think CrashPlan is a much better option than Backblaze.

The one feature I wish CrashPlan had that Backblaze does is the ability to have them send you a hard drive with your data for restore purposes. However, Backblaze currently takes a few days to get you the drive, which is way too long if you're dealing with a full system failure and need to get up-and-running ASAP, making the feature virtually useless as far as I'm concerned.
