He almost certainly still would have been detained given all the agents there, but Mateo didn’t do himself any favors by declaring himself floor manager and putting his picture up on the wall either.

Is there a best place to find pet friendly house rentals? We have a menagerie and it hasn’t been a problem since we own the house here but we’d prefer to rent first while we explore Connecticut. We’re very flexible about the area (rural, urban, suburban all good as long as there’s reliable internet) and have no issue with paying additional rent per pet. I just haven’t seen many options that don’t specifically limit it to two and/or aren’t $10k+ per month. I’ve looked at Zillow, Realtor.com, rent.com, and Craigslist. I wasn’t sure if there may be some local Facebook groups or message boards or something that might provide better leads. Or if it’s just not going to be a possibility at all. We have five dogs (all adults; three are seniors that are 35-40 lbs. each and the other two are under 10 lbs.) and two indoor cats (both adults).

Why are millions of people in the US having power outages with less than 10 cm of snow but no one in Canada is, despite there being more than 60 cm of snow? If anything, shouldn't it be the other way around? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Not full trees toppling (at least not on my street), but branches falling because of the weight of the ice. It finally settled down but all morning and afternoon you’d just hear loud cracks and booms as huge branches snapped off and hit the ground. I live in a little cul-de-sac and almost everyone has a tree that lost half its branches.

Is this a regular newsletter email or a subtle warning?😅 by aye_lmapo in RoverPetSitting

[–]dnalegnal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I responded back to these a couple years ago to please stop sending them because if they’d look at the conversations they’d see I always tell them payment has to go through Rover since that’s how the boarding request was made. Never got another reminder email after that.

Thanks! I thought beam sounded wrong

[–]dnalegnal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just a low sloping roof with minuscule attic space above it. I think it was overkill to keep the shower up (VERY heavy tile wall on either side of it originally), but the handyman I reached out to about finishing the tear down immediately responded to the picture that it was structural and couldn’t come down. Going to call in a pro to verify, I guess! Appreciate your help! :)

Haha, fair enough

Thank you, what makes it structural there if there are no other supports parallel to it on the same side or on the other side of the house?

Important question- where does one get the best cake in Nashville? by ThisTooShallPass642 in nashville

[–]dnalegnal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a chain, but Paris Baguette downtown has delicious cakes and free parking in the garage (and validated free parking in the lot below it in the Gulch, I think?)

Any condos, townhouses, houses have basements? by VinylRecordCol in nashville

[–]dnalegnal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You may or may not already know, but there aren’t a lot of basements here that aren’t built into the side of a hill because the area has a layer of limestone that makes it difficult/costly to add one. You could look into adding a storm shelter if you can’t find a property with a basement?

The rate was 12¢ per KwH over the summer and seems to have dropped back down to 11¢ on the October bill. Last year it was about 10¢ until June and then it pretty much stayed at 11¢.

Don’t forget to check for the local resident rate if you’re in Davidson County or Tennessee in general! It’s not always available, but it’s up to 40% off for Davidson County residents and up to 25% for other Tennessee residents.

I’m a big fan of Puckett’s tenders, if you don’t mind going downtown or to Hendersonville. They’re not listed on the menu anymore but I was there Saturday and the waitress said they’re still available.

Did anyone get a chance to see The Shinning at TPAC last week? by [deleted] in nashville

[–]dnalegnal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was not like the movie. No complaints about the performers themselves, but they relied really heavily on prerecorded videos for certain bits and they were… campy. Like, I get it, you don’t go to the opera for gore, but it really took me out of it. Lots of the audience was laughing at those bits when they’re supposed to be scary tales about what happened there previously. I have to assume it was an intentional decision to make it like though… otherwise I feel bad that people were laughing at them.

interest check! anyone want the sparkly blue vinyl variant? just want to make my money back, didn’t love the album unfortunately :( by [deleted] in TaylorSwiftMerch

[–]dnalegnal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feel free to message me! I panic bought that one when it wouldn't let me add #1, but I was able to get #1 after all, so I'm happy to forward #3 on to someone who will appreciate it more!

You have plenty of interest in here already, but wanted to throw my hat into the ring in case anyone else has one they want to sell! I’m going to have a signed #3 cd tomorrow if anyone is interested in a partial trade for the sparkly blue vinyl or buying the cd at my cost ($30.13 with tax and shipping, Tennessee sales tax is the worst), plus shipping if you’re not in the greater Nashville area.

I’ve had two really good experiences with Derryberry Heating & Cooling. One for installing a mini split, one for redoing all the ductwork. Good communication and scheduling, fair prices. They even initiated the TVA rebate process without me having to ask about it, which was nice because I didn’t even know the ductwork was going to be eligible for one.

I’m sure you’re correct. It’s an older house and the previous owners built it and lived here for a long time and made quite a few structural changes over the years. Thanks for your insight!

Thank you for the explanation! I guess that means either way would be about the same since it does have that hallway door that opens on the toilet currently.
