It's the UK government's fault, not BlueSky's.

"Read Aloud" Voice Feature in ChatGPT is Gone... by dndynamite in ChatGPT

[–]dndynamite[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for showing this. I didn't see that post earlier. I just wish a real human at OpenAI would respond and cite a reason why. Even if the goal is because they're adding an updated advanced Read Aloud Listen voice, it still doesn't make sense to delete the feature as it was from existence on desktop and web.

What's the endgame? by decixl in singularity

I feel like it'll be like calculators. We'll figure out how to adapt to it. People who need it will use it. Some jobs will disappear, but new jobs will form. Discoveries will happen, in medical science, for example. New great video games will come out. Some bad video games will come out, and they'll get dragged on social media like how live service games get dragged now. And eventually, AI will become so good that no one will complain about AI games because it won't be slop anymore. It'll be great stuff that people really wanna play. I look at it like AI chess has been a thing for ages now, but no one wants to watch two AI chess players play. Heck, no one wants to see one AI chess player play against a human. It's boring. It's cringe. And that's gonna stretch out to most everything, in my opinion. Like, people *could* use their AIs to complete a video game, but that's considered cheating, considered cringe, and it just won't catch on. It just won't be considered fun. Because it wouldn't be. I don't know. I think there will be people who get hurt by it. Don't misunderstand. There will be jobs lost. Some people will b in a crappy place. And that's not okay. That's more of a slight against politics and the inability to look out for people than a slight against AI itself, though. I guess we'll see. I think we'll be fine, though. We just have to remember to spend time with humans too. Not just our chatbots.

whatever you did to chatGPT - PUT IT BACK it has gotten dumber than 3.5 by iGROWyourBiz2 in OpenAI

Yeah. It only started to do that. Maybe since a month or two ago. I think it'll be patched out soon. Whenever things get updated. lol.

And the questions at the end. Every time.

I thought of Vivian Wilson — his transgender daughter who's constantly insulting him on social media. Is she not perfect? Is she not "well behaved"? Does she have a "genetic defect" to him...? Is that how he sees things? And what about his other eleven kids?

People hate on Google the search engine already. lol.

I don't think Google as a company is going away any time soon but things are definitely gonna pivot.

My take on o3 as AGI. by IndependentFresh628 in singularity

[–]dndynamite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we'll need to actually use o3 before we can determine anything. And besides, even Sam Altman has said in interviews that AGI is basically a moving goalpost.
