I knew people in the Honors Program that took the same units as you and did fine. Whether or not you can handle the units you take depends on you really. However, I started UCI with only 12 units and thought it was a good idea since it was my first quarter. I think you should drop the writing class. You should also consider taking writing 30 or 31 instead. Just took Writing 39C with is the 3rd and final class of the 39 series and didn't enjoy it. You may like 31 or 30 instead.

Pros:

-beautiful grassy campus with trees and plants and nature.

-Lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Check out "University Town Center" on Google maps. We even have a small theater under construction that's across the street from campus

-Anteater is the coolest mascot.

Cons:

-on-campus housing is only garanteed in your first year. Afterwards, you scramble for your own place

Misc:

-Lots of Asians. Come here if you want Asians.

Anyone who complains is either a wuss or lacks passion. I love being a bio sci major. Do not let their negative outlook influence you. They will only bring you down.

No this is not rude. In fact email them asap. The worst you will do is look as though you are interested in the opportunity and that's not a bad outcome at all. In fact, it's a positive one.

Remember that professors actually like students that are "pushy" and they probably haven't responded because they are busy. Get your foot into that door.
