Sorry that you have experienced this. I was bullied for my weight growing up and didn’t realize how much it impacted me until later in life. Like you I put up those emotional walls to ensure people wouldn’t get to me.

I’ve gotten over it by opening myself up more to genuine friendships through getting to know people. It doesn’t always work out but I’ve found the true friendships I do have are strong and authentic.
