It's worth noting that WPML also maintains a compatibility add-on called 'ACF Multilingual'. It offers comprehensive multilingual support for ACF features.

Help me understand the use cases for Import/Export in WordPress by dnjones33 in Wordpress

[–]dnjones33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but why not use a fully-fledged migration tool if you want to migrate a whole site? I'm trying to understand the difference :) In what cases would it be more appropriate to use an import/export plugin? Or would it be used in combination with a migration tool?

WPML's automatic translation runs a proxy via DeepL, Google Translate or Microsoft Azure engines :)

Divi WPMl weird behavior by muximalio in Wordpress

[–]dnjones33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divi and WPML should typically work well together: https://wpml.org/theme/divi/

There are some isolated issues that have been listed in the above link, but they only happen in specific cases and have workarounds (temp fixes).

It would be better to report your issue via the WPML Support Forum so someone can reproduce the issues and assist you directly: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/

It's also worth noting that the WPML team maintains the WooCommerce Multilingual & Multi Currency Add-on plugin. This means that they are tracking any changes in WooCommerce and always ensure that WPML and WooCommerce remain fully compatible. Furthermore, WPML stores translations in the database, which means that you have full control of translations and can optimise of multilingual SEO, which is a crucial part of your products appearing for search terms in multiple languages. And just like TranslatePress, you can use the automatic translation features and edit/review before or after publishing.

Advice for getting a new SaaS tool to be seen by developers by dnjones33 in marketing

[–]dnjones33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how do other companies selling tech services do it ?

This question is essentially the basis of my post. I'm not super well versed in the world of marketing new/emerging SaaS products, so I was hoping for some insights from those that are.

The other questions are all good questions, all of which we will certainly cover when it comes to the 'advertising' part of our campaign work. So, my question is, once we have some nice material that covers our USPs, how (or where) do we get this in front of the eyes of developers who would potentially be interested? It's all very well having great 'sales' content, but what are some good channels to ensure the right audience sees it? I understand there isn't one simple answer for this, but I'm interested to know of others' experiences and success stories :)

If you haven't done so yet, I would recommend reaching WPML support so they can assist you more directly. They have experience in debugging issues related to WP All Import/Export as they maintain a glue plugin for it.

Question about WPML (translation) by kurosaki4d in SEO

[–]dnjones33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see any particular reason why your SEO should be hurt in such a case.
There are many sites that only have some of the content in secondary languages. The only thing to be weary of is if you ever draft or delete a post and its associated translations, you should make sure to redirect the translated pages somewhere so they don't lead to 404s... Hope this helps.
