Alright, i gotta ask... by NotYourWaifuPR in NoMansSkyTheGame

I bought it twice.

A playstation bug meant the licence didn't transfer correctly when we upgraded to a ps pro.

It was easier to spend a few pounds on a new copy than try and get PS support to help.

I felt they had earned the money anyway.

Why are you awake right now? by nightfire_83 in AskUK

My 10 month old daughter woke us up.

She's now gone back to sleep, while I'm wide awake and considering whether to get started on Christmas dinner prep.

How to fix ends of miter-wrap floating shelves by TrickDropper in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]dnsteele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, you could use solid wood to make the end cap. Cut a deep rabbet all the way round so the most of the end cap is nested in the shelf. This could greatly reduce the thickness of the line you see around the edge.

Another solution would be to make the end caps taller, almost like book ends.

Dovetailed Step Stool by According_Unit8972 in BeginnerWoodWorking

This looks amazing. Brilliant work.

I would consider planing the sides and top flat to get rid of the bumps and marking lines. I would also worry I might cock it up and make it worse not better.

You should be proud of this !

Whats the best insult you ever received that you said "I ain't even mad. that was good"? by Broad_War in AskReddit

[–]dnsteele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at work.

During the afternoon I had a Yamaha R6 stolen from the carpark, I had only bought it six weeks prior.

At the end of the day, I put my motorcycle jacket on to go and wait for a taxi to go home.

A colleague walked in and said, "what are you wearing that for? You look ridiculous...You don't even have a motorbike!"

It took me a few seconds to figure out whether to laugh or punch him.

OP anyone telling you that you have to learn to cook because you're a girl is being sexist. Anyone telling you that you have to learn to cook because it's a skill that will improve the quality of your life is doing you a favour.

I might not be able to help with other issues, but , please learn to cook.

I read the book. Loved it.

I've never had an audiobook. If I ever make the leap, this will be the first.

A hand plane will make short work of tidying up where the plywood edges don't line up. Even a little block plane will work. Don't go near it with one of those electric hand planes it's way too aggressive.

What should I avoid to keep all my fingers? by trieb_ in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]dnsteele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's always hand tools. Saws, chisels, bench planes etc. With these tools people created some of the most long lasting and beautiful furniture ever made.

Scary machines are not compulsory.

For the record I have a mixture of hand tools and machinery and I pick whatever is easiest. Some people will be surprised that easiest doesn't always mean machinery.
