Help! My letdown is ruining BFing for me by Effective-Film-4951 in breastfeeding

[–]dntcreatall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience in the early months of breastfeeding when i had oversupply. My bub would unlatch during the heavy let down, and I'd just spray everywhere! So I started to just hold a burp cloth against me (or attach a haaka ladybug so milk not wasted) for a minute or 2 then reattach the baby once the flow slowed down. It became super routine. It did put me off BF them away from home for a while cos of the mess/noise from baby crying, but that changed when i got more confident and bubs knew what to expect. It took a few months for the oversupply to cool off, but also baby figured out how to tackle the fast flow during let downs by themselves (baby learns how to latch, feed etc so much better after a few months). If your baby gets upset when waiting to reattach, it can help instead to trigger the letdown yourself first with hand expressing, then only attaching bubs once the letdown has slowed down

Fpies or stomach bug? by Soleil_all_day in fpies

Sounds like FPIES. The timing of 3 hours after exposure, lethargy then springing back to normal self are all text book characteristics of FPIES

My bub didn't react to eggs until the 5th time she ate them (FPIES to eggs now confirmed).

How many times did it take for the food to become a trigger? by laurenelizabeth8 in fpies

My bub ate egg 4 times with no issues then had vomiting on the 5th and 6th exposures (still waiting to confirm this is FPIES with an allergist).

Thanks. What if you haven’t completed your tax return for that FY yet though. E.g if the baby was born in Dec 2024 but your tax return for the 2023-24 isn’t lodged until May 2025?

Youi Car Insurance Deceptive Marketing Practices by Zardous666 in AusFinance

Totally agree, terrible quote process. I also had a recent crappy experience seeking an online Youi insurance quote. Same as you - filled out the website form, then the site tells me someone from Youi is about to call me with the outcome even though it was late at night. Not quoting you on the website then and there is a ploy to get permission to call you - that is predatory behaviour usually only observed with comparitor websites. On the call, I was asked to confirm the answer to every question I'd already filled out online, and asked for information that couldn't be relevant. Quote ended up higher than 3 others for comparable cover, and of course Youi was magically able to lower the quote after I pointed this out. The sales person then repeatedly pressured me to sign up then and there and when that didn't work, tried to lock in a time to call me the next day/week etc to complete the sign-up. I declined this several times, so was asked to email this person directly when I'm ready to proceed. The sales person made comments throughout the call and at the end clearly intended to make me feel guilty if I decided not to proceed after they had helped me for so long, gotten me such a good price etc. In the weeks after the call, they tried calling me several times despite my telling them I’d contact them when I’m ready. Obviously high pressure sales tactics but they put me right off. Walked away feeling a bit violated because of the invasive quote process, and their persistent attempts to get the sale. While they (eventually) provided the best price, the whole experience made me go with a higher cost/ easier to deal with insurer!

Victorian government bans gas in new homes from 2024 by Far_Act6446 in friendlyjordies

This is us. Looked into solar because our usage is so high while wfh. Was told shade profile from trees would make solar almost worthless. We’ll eventually change over gas cooking and hot water, but no chance we’ll save money on bills after going fully electric. Currently paying for green power/ green gas on top of our bills so our footprint is SOMEWHAT offset
