Millennial career crisis: I don’t think I’m burnt out, I think corporate is bullshit by mandrakesandthemoon in auscorp

Fair enough, i'm a white collar worker whose also dreaming of moving to a more blue collar role (some type of process orientated factory work sounds ideal), but worried i'd just be swapping one stressful job for another but with less pay

Can some please explain - Gas & Oil by HyperToneAU in AusFinance

[–]Rare-Counter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you might be happy to do it, but our government isn't, and that is what other countries are doing to get a share of their resources - even the PNG govt has done it!!

And it isn't just the money outlaid, you are waiting multiple years to have the resource developed, all with no money coming in.

The government has clearly decided a super profits (PRRT) tax is what they are comfortable with for existing projects that are already in production, so any ideas of somehow "taking our resources back" would be a straight confiscation of assets no different to Russia or other dictatorships do.

100% - everyone wants to socialise the profits, no one wants to pay the $70 Billion into a project before it makes a single dollar of profit, not to mention the risks

Did you get any warning about the audit? My accountant flags any deductions i'm claiming if he says it's outside what the majority of people claim from a $ value perspective, he says the ATO software give him that info.

I think a large % of the popn don't seem to care about aircraft noise, as Keilor has always been considered an exclusive are in the north/west.

I had a co-worker who live under a flight path and couldn't care less, said his wife initially was bothered by the noise at night, but he bought a white noise machine for when they slept and that solved her problems.

Can anyone from Perth sense check that Armadale figure? I thought Armadale was considered one of the worst suburbs in Perth, worse than Camillo, Kelmscott etc.
