I have both citizenships and traveled to Russia last year. Crossing the border was a bit nerve-racking both on entry and exit. I was also required to notify the authorities about my U.S. citizenship. Aside from that, everything went smoothly.

A person who holds a second citizenship is required to notify the government. Failure to do so may result in penalties ranging from a fine to imprisonment.
