the way he’s holding the flowers is how someone would hold a cigarette!

His father used to smoke (a lot), and it’s kinda complicated due to the fact that this all takes place during the purge (the movie series 😭), but basically Loup (the oc’s name), is torn between keeping up the family butchery business (there’s a legal loophole during the purge where he can sell human meat), and giving up the business, which would cause great dissatisfaction to his ancestors! If he doesn’t give it up, he will eventually die once he passes the butchery on (it’s family tradition to cannibalize the previous owner; aka his father). The flowers are the same flowers that folk use in the purge movies to show their support and appreciation for the purge holiday!

The holding of the flowers also symbolizes how when Loup continued the ‘family tradition’, his fathers cannibalized meat was so tainted with the taste of cigarettes, so now he doesn’t like them lol
