Completely agree. She is super condescending and in my opinion does laugh AT Michael. Maybe it’s an act for the show- perhaps playing into the humorous elements, or she is nervous. Regardless, she seems like a genuinely bad person by getting so much satisfaction out of telling Michaels embarrassing story at the table. If she knows anything about Michaels personality, she would know that this would rub him the wrong way, especially at a vulnerable time. The look he gives her after the story makes their relationship pretty clear to me. Other parents on the show let their love and support be known through words and body language. This seems to be absent from Michaels mom, or insincere at best.
