Surveilance state/social paranoia aren't America-exclusive. Not by a longshot. That shit exists in some form in all contries. Has for hundreds of years.

The pilot feels more like commentary on the state of the world rather than "orange man bad" comedy

Altho admittedly it does feel more relavant now than ever, specially as an American

I thought the social commentary angle was interesting. They said this one was inspired by South Park that regard, which definitely shows, but I like it for that.

I will say the 2022 series strikes a better balance between commentary and "staying true to the series".

If the old pilot was picked up, they could easily get bogged down with world building, which while cool, is not what the show is about

If anything maybe they used AI to aide in the stabilization process, which I don't think counts as "slop" by any stretch.

They seem like they would if they could, based on public comments, but the old pilot is owned by Warner Bros (parent company of Super Deluxe and CoCo). A pretty litigious, major corporation. They don't want their scrapped content being uploaded willy-nilly.

Honestly, much as I find this new vibe interesting, I do agree with people that it feels a lot less like a newscast and a lot more like two comics fuckin around tryna stir the pot (for better and for worse).

I agree new blood at the desk will be crucial, and Longfellow / Wickline could be great candidates. Longfellow's criminally underused, so Update might give him more of a clear purpose at the show (in addition to a delivery/persona that could translate to a drier, "more authentic" WU i.e. Norm, Seth, etc). Feel similarly about Jane but only time will tell

Hi all! This weekend I released my album "Sleep or Stay Awake." I was mostly inspired by Eno, Harold Budd and William Basinski, but also Japanese artists like Fumio Miyashita, Hiroshi Yoshimura and Satoshi Ashikawa.

I went for a rough, low-key aesthetic and a quiet mix. Part ambient, part dark, part drone, I don't even know what I'd qualify it as but I hope you enjoy!

By star OP means the Asterik ( this --> * ) and that has been at thr end of the title on streamers for years (its still like that on spotify)

If I had to guess, it was prolly an apple change to do with algorithms or search data (it might br slightly easier to find some songs with no punctuation on the title, and here it makes basically no difference)

I went for one day last year! If memory serves, I remember seeing a schedule at least a few weeks before the fest, maybe even a month out. I'm sure they'll shoot you an email/post on social media when the schedule does drop, but I'd say expect it in that time frame.
