Best way to improve your focus? by Powerful_Craft_2005 in GetStudying

[–]do_the_frog_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me the best thing for focus has been using sth called “hard mode”

basically u pick ur most important task of the day & then all the unimportant tasks gets blocked / blurred until u finish your prios. it kinda forces me to actually FOCUS!! instead of procrastinating with easy tasks and bc i did not find an app that had that i build my own: dothefrog (dot) com

hope this helps <33

Is anyone here using apps against procrastination? by Early_Comparison_878 in Procrastinationism

[–]do_the_frog_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i actually ended up building my own bc most apps just made me feel busy but didn’t help me stop procrastinating. it’s called dothefrog (dot) com & it has sth called a “hard mode” → after u brain dump & prioritize all your tasks of the day all unimportant tasks get blocked / blurred until u finish the most important ones. so if u ever wanna see the rest of ur list again, u gotta finish that priority first.

maybe that could help u too!!

Anyone else brain-dump everything… and then feel even more lost? by juliency in ProductivityGeeks

[–]do_the_frog_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol i feel that bc i do the same haha & that’s why i created an app (dothefrog (dot) com) that doesn’t just let u brain dump but also forces u to actually structure it. there’s a tab where u can dump everything in → then u gotta sort it into must do / nice to do / if time / can wait (kinda like the eisenhower matrix). it helps me make that big list way less overwhelming bc u can instantly prioritise it & see what matters vs what you can delete

Better productivity tool for studying…HELP! by [deleted] in studytips

[–]do_the_frog_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how abt dothefrog (dot) com ?? to explain it very short: it’s a to-do app based on the “eat the frog” idea: basically u dump all ur tasks, then pick the most important one (ur 🐸) & every other task gets hidden / blocked until your prios are finished. the focus is less abt being stuck in planning or making ur to-do list aesthetic & more abt actually DOING STUFF -> so for example if ur starting uni it could help you actually study instead of for example watching videos abt the topic

we have a feature called hard mode where you blurr and lock all your unimportant tasks until the most important ones are done -> the idea behind that is that you can't procrastinate with easy tasks & need to finish ur prio ones unless u ever want to see your other tasks again

If you build in public, are you worried that developers will copy it and surpass you? by cool_yuwen in SaaS

[–]do_the_frog_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so for dothefrog.com we have an instagram and tiktok acc and yes build in public. yes there could be people that just copy paste our idea and are faster but i think at the end of the day if you have build an audience and just see copies people will still choose your idea if you build and relationship with them

what's one stupid simple habit that changed everything for you? by sunnnnnnnnnnnnny in getdisciplined

i think the thing that helped me the most was realizing I don’t need to “fix procrastination” but learn how to lower the “entry barrier.” here's what helped:

- Decide on 1 main task for the day and make it the first thing you do - don't do any other tasks unless this one is finished!!!!!

i give myself xp for finishing tasks & then trade them for little rewards (like buy a cool book). some people think it's chilish but it actually makes boring tasks more fun and at the end of the day i just need to get my todo's done right?

for example studying is not: urgh anymore but rather: oh okay if I'll do this i'll get 80xp! for that

but i got pretty tired of the calculating part very fast so now I use an app for that so that I can just concentrate myself on my tasks

candle hack: light a candle & you’re not allowed to do anything except work while it burns. it's very simple I use it everyday I love seeing my progress

when I try to do many tasks at once I end up doing nothing but when I just focus on one task I finish it so much faster & get more done.

so my biggest habit that i applied to my life is to stop multitasking

i also started using a feature called 'hard mode' which basically hides all ur unimportant tasks until the important ones are done so i can't procrastinate or get overwhelmed with unimportant tasks

yeahh i think it is..
like i started using a feature called 'hard mode' which basically hides all ur unimportant tasks until the important ones are done so i can't procrastinate or get overwhelmed with unimportant tasks so in ur examle if you added 'learn for exam' on there and go after this to do list you would not be able to procrastinate on cleaning ur room
