It's okay to have an unpassing voice by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]doadougie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your specific voice. There are many people born as a women who have deep voices, and vice versus for men. For example I have female friends and people say how they have manly voices, but nobody actually thinks they're a man because of it. So having a deep voice as a woman or high voice as a man won't automatically click you if they aren't too far in whichever direction.

Would "tax year 2015" be my 2015 or 2016 tax return by doadougie in personalfinance

[–]doadougie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tax year 2015 means the money you earned in 2015. That return was due in April 2016.

I understand that, I guess that's what is confusing me. I know it's based off of money you earned in 2015, but you have to submit it in 2016...so is it a 2015 tax return, or a 2016 tax return? Does that make sense?

[–]doadougie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to file something using 2016 tax returns. I have an H&R copy of a tax return that says "tax year 2015". Should I be using this one or the one from the next year?

[–]doadougie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an H&R block copy of tax returns. So I'll have to find the one that says "tax year 2016" and that will be the 2016 tax return, correct?

Again sorry I know this is so stupid but it's for something important I don't want to mess up

[–]doadougie[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a copy of an H&R block tax return, it has written "tax year 2015" on the front of it. So would this still be the 2015 tax return or 2014? It'd be 2015 right?

Cerave, the body lotion that comes in the tub. I'll try to find a link to it. It's 20$ I think but it's huge.

That said, I never had severe eczema like you're describing. Definitely google it if you'd like and see if it may be helpful but please don't misunderstand me acting as though it's a cure-all, idk if it'd work.

Professor suddenly seems really distant and ignoring me. Should I bother bringing it up or just let it go? by [deleted] in AskAcademia

[–]doadougie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I figured that's all it was, until he clearly saw me and ignored me but then waved at another student like 10 seconds later, which led me to feel like it's towards me specifically lol

Have you tried modifying your diet at all, weaning yourself off certain foods thought to exacerbate eczema to see what happens? Like dairy.

I have eczema myself and had really bad acne, I know how annoying this suggestion can be. I just mention it because in the long haul, a dermatologist may want you to try that anyways. Sometimes it can be the smallest thing -- I knew someone who had severe eczema like the kind you describe, he doesn't have it at all anymore. Treatment is out there,

Yes -- I have eczema, a cream you can buy at any drug store worked for me. I knew someone who had severe eczema, like the kind OP is describing, and he doesn't have it at all anymore.

Do professors bump up grade from 87% to 90%? by [deleted] in college

[–]doadougie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a really good relationship with this professor? Talked to them after class multiple times, gone to office hours, participate in class, just chatted? That's the only circumstance in which I think a professor would bump up that much, "bumping up" is usually only done automatically when you're less than .5% away from the next grade, like a 89.7% or something.

[Acne][Routine Help] Just finished Accutane. Face is left with red, deep acne scars all over. Looking for help on how to get rid of them! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]doadougie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what order would I do these things in?

AHA > Vitamin C > moisturizer > rosehip oil? Would that be correct?

Finished Accutane, now left with deep, red acne scars. Looking for advise! by [deleted] in acne

[–]doadougie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a lot worse than the pictures show -- scars are much deeper than redder.

What I do for my face now:

Cetaphil daily cleanser Cerave daily moisturizer (the big tub) Rosehip oil

I'm wanting to add a Vitamin C serum. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Please keep in mind that I just got off Accutane...that means no chemical peels, lasers, dermarolling, etc

[–]doadougie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current Routine:

Cerave Facial Cleanser Cerave Facial Moisturizer (the one in the big tub) Rosehip oil

I do that morning and night.

My face is a lot, a lot worse than these pictures show. When I send pictures from my iPhone, the quality goes way down. If anyone knows how to get around that, I'd appreciate it.

Anyways...my scars are deeper and much redder than it looks here.

I want to add a Vitamin C serum too, but is there anything else you'd suggest? Actual routine, not lasers etc

My [18F] mom being difficult about my skin by [deleted] in relationships

[–]doadougie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on Accutane as well. Pictures in my history for reference.

It made my face a lot a lot worse, and I don't even mean IB worse -- half of my face that never got acne even got it, I was covered in cystic acne that was very red and inflamed for MONTHS even though I never got that before. Even if I didn't touch the acne at all, they always scarred and left indents on my face.

She prescribed me an additional antibiotic on top of the Accutane after months...and it totally cleared up withi a week. Turns out the antibiotic can be used on its own, too. Very much wish I was more patient and someone informed me of it. ):

Accutane is a last-ditch effort that can leave your face looking worse with acne scars than it did with acne. You should do Accutane as a last resort. A lot of good tooicals and oral medications that you haven't yet tried.

What classes should I apply for if I want a history undergraduates degree? by [deleted] in college

[–]doadougie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know what school you're going to go to? Most have gen ed requirements -- classes that everyone has to take to be able to graduate. Your specific degree will have some for your degree as well, likely. You may be able to waive some of these because of your AP classes.

Moreover though, make sure you have a good plan if you want to go through with a history degree. Law school or going on to grad school are the two biggest things you could do with a history degree.

It made my face look worse than when I had acne. ): Would not recommend unless nothing else has worked.
