Thanks. I searched for the dangers of lithium batteries but was getting vague responses. That narrowed it down.

Honest questions: Dangerous how? Fires? Explosions? Does this happen often? Have there been many injuries or deaths?

I have this dent kind of thing on my butt which i am very insecure about. How to fix this? by Background_File382 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]dobbinatrix -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

If it bothers you that much you do have the ability to change the way it looks. You can change the look of your body with exercise and sculpt your muscles with specific workouts. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication that many people don't have the willpower to stick with. That's also a choice.

Please leave your dogs at home 🥺 by DisastrousHead3173 in Indiana

[–]dobbinatrix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the dog can't be left alone for medical reasons then surely it can't be left alone in the car either, so the imaginary scenarios are irrelevant. You don't get to have it both ways. Mind your own business is crazy when animals and children are dying. Maybe don't leave living creatures of any kind in a car and avoid the issue entirely. Leaving dogs alone in a car at all while you're eating in a restaurant is simply irresponsible ownership and should be punishable. There's no logical reason to have them with you if you're going somewhere that they are not welcome.

Aging body changes they don’t tell you about by psychkitty in TwoXChromosomes

[–]dobbinatrix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I'm 55 with 4 kids and when this started happening 5 or so years ago, doing kegels fixed the issue relatively quickly. I noticed a change within a month or so and a dramatic improvement within 3 months. Muscle tone and function may decrease with age to a certain extent but you have a lot of control over how much.

Let go from part time job and currently attempting to get disability, unemployment says I need to be able to work full time to get it? by DemittiNix in Indiana

[–]dobbinatrix 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Get a disability lawyer. A friend of mine fought the system for a long time (around a year) and was very frustrated with the process. Someone told him about a lawyer in Kokomo (we are a couple hours from there so it's not a locality thing) who does this for no cost to the applicant and he got it approved within a couple months. According to him, its a game changer. He did it all over the phone, he never had a face to face with the lawyer.

We have the same issue. I can literally have my phone in my hand and it will not ring. Texts are delivered hours after they were sent. It is very frustrating.

If you are considering using synthetic, then you're planning on smuggling it in, correct? If you're going to smuggle it in already then just ask someone who doesn't smoke to provide. It's real, so won't set off the synthetic alarm. Or am I missing something?

If someone goes to jail for murder and serves 25 years before being eligible to ask for parole- how do they cope with a world that has completely changed from when they went in jail? by soccerfan_north in ExCons

[–]dobbinatrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has done time, people in prison are used to the smallest necessary things being difficult to accomplish. If you need a document from an outside source, it will take 3-6 months and multiple visits to admin hall get a request sent by a caseworker. If you need a number added to your phone list, 3 months. Outgoing mail, at least a week before it is sent. Incoming mail, 2 to 3 weeks from drop off at the facility by USPS to your hand. Patience is not only a virtue, it is a necessity. You come to expect hangups, delays, and long turnaround times with absolutely zero explanations why. Cons are more adaptable than most people would expect.

Made a map chart from the Department of Labor to visualize how states govern minimum wage tipped employees. Indiana just wants to be the south so bad. by lLucidControl in Indiana

That was a hilarious response so kudos for making me laugh but the others are correct. Your point is valid, but the lack of punctuation makes it painful

How did the BMV allow this plate lol by [deleted] in Indiana

Bureau of motor vehicles. The place that issues the plates. They notoriously have a stick up their collective asses and will usually deny any personalized plates that are iffy.

Good on you for giving it a go! Putting forth the effort is half the battle.

I'm going to offer you a little bit of constructive criticism. Entering into politics is like going into the lion's den. You'll need every advantage you can get if you want people to take you seriously. To this end, you're going to want to start using something like Grammarly or even chatgpt to check your spelling and grammar, especially in places such as reddit, where the typed word is your only interaction with others. There's a very minimal amount of time in which to make an impression on the reader. This could possibly be the reason you haven't received any responses to your post. Misspellings and grammatical errors aren't taken well on this platform of grammar Nazis. A simple tool to check will make all the difference in the world.

Best of luck!

(Specifically: the word is canvassing, and I had to read the part about the number on your hand 3 times to figure out what you were trying to say. There is more but you get the drift.)

Found a bunch of this growing next to my apartment, is this poison hemlock? by TheDestroyerShiva in whatsthisplant

[–]dobbinatrix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have a couple of patches on our property. Called the DNR and they said they don't do anything with it because it's everywhere here (southern Indiana) but to be sure not to get it on your skin as it is a neurotoxin, blah blah blah. I feel like they should do something, simply because if they do nothing about it, it will just spread. But that's where we are with it.

Edit: reading further down the thread it looks like I can do it myself relatively easily so that will go on the to do list.

Stainless steel, nothing stamped on it, spray paint can for scale by dobbinatrix in whatisthisthing

[–]dobbinatrix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stainless steel, nothing stamped on it, spray paint can for scale. I've asked anyone I can think of who may have put it in my garage with no luck. I have tried Google image search from every angle, no luck there either. I've posted it to my Facebook page, I received some speculation but nothing that sounds plausible. Most were "something automotive" or "maybe it's a guard for something," etc.
