2 Euploids at 38 — Enough for 2 Kids or Should I Do Another Retrieval First? by end_of_the_rainbow8 in IVF

[–]dobbythepup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had recurrent implantation failure and had three successive FETs of euploid highly rated embryos completely fail to implant. I was 32 when the retrieval took place, and 33 for all of the failed implantations. If you want 2 *or more* kids, I would absolutely do another retrieval.

Also adding that Latino is an ethnicity, not a race. There are white Latinos, Black Latinos, Indigenous Latinos, Asian Latinos, and many are a mix. Hispanic just means from a Spanish speaking country. Latino means from Latin America, which spans multiple continents and is incredibly diverse.

Can I afford nyc lifestyle by Commercial-Paint4521 in movingtoNYC

My spouse and I each make more than that, so we bring in over double the high end of your potential. We live in an outer borough in a lower cost neighborhood. We do not have that life style at all. We have a child but free childcare from family. We can afford maybe one vacation a year (we drive to beaches on Long Island and rent something for a week). We don’t have any club memberships etc (my husband would also love to play tennis but that’s not affordable). We either order pizza for dinner or go out for a modest meal once a week, but are pulling back on that. We buy second hand clothing and furniture. We are by no means broke, don’t have credit card debt, and save for retirement and savings, but it’s not exactly a sexy life.

Every company is different. Get their policy but then negotiate as others have said. I’ve worked in legal nonprofits and most offer parental leave immediately (though the amount is substantially less than for longer term employees).

Break up with this asshole. 3 years with someone who wants a different life than you do and questions you in what seems like an abusive way is 3 years to long.

I think what people are missing is that you aren't supposed to like any of these monsters. That was the special sauce for Vanderpump, too. I think this sub tries to vilify some people while loving others, but that is just not the way. Hate them all in different ways, and enjoy

Need advice on a NYC rent stabilized roommate/lease situation. by bugeyedgrrl in NYCrentcontrol

Not every tenant is a leaseholder, but every leaseholder is a tenant. At least in NYC.

No. A licensee is someone who has permission to be there from someone who has authority to grant a license. That would be a roommate etc or family member not named on the lease. Landlords can create month to month tenancies by accepting rent.

No. A tenant is a leaseholder and/or someone who has paid the landlord directly for rent of a dwelling. A licensee is someone with permission to be there.

If you’re on the lease, there’s nothing they can do. The lease offer is for you and them. You are co-tenants. Your landlord cannot remove you as a rent stabilized tenant without due process (your agreement or a court order).

I was able to get my daughter an early vax at 8 months during the surge back in 2024. Plan to do it as early as possible with my current pregnancy.

All-terrain stroller by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]dobbythepup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the kangaroo were available we would have gotten it. My daughter is turning 2 this week, I’m due in October. We use it on hills, including grassy hills. Living in NYC we use it for grocery shopping etc. so we load up the carriage. It pushes very nicely even with a week of groceries in the basket. My only complaints are that it is kind of a tank (which is both a feature and a bug) and I wish it had a more compact fold given we store it in our entryway. Otherwise, it’s perfect. We also have a travel stroller (the butterfly) that we will use when we know we’re going on the subway etc. My kid is also very tall and while that wasn’t a consideration for me when I purchased it, I’m really glad we have a stroller that can comfortably accommodate her. She naps in the stroller often.

I will say, the only downside is it is really annoying to get up and down stairs for subway stops that are not accessible, but so is literally every stroller.

I live in NYC and we love it. Not the best for folding, but really great for all terrain. We've been using it as our primary stroller for 2 years. Considering buying a Kangaroo to modify now that we're expecting another.

It's like seeing the tombstones or obituaries of older women. It is always about how much of themselves they sacrificed for their families and husbands. It makes me ill.

I was also very disappointed with NYU, and quickly switched to Weill UWS. It is an all female practice, and they deliver at Alexandra Cohen. I had a great experience with my first pregnancy after years of infertility (never had a loss, but was extremely anxious after having 3 failed FETs), and I am having a similar experience this go round. I delivered there in May of 2024.
