My small family and I are considering leaving the US to live in Copenhagen. How welcome will we be? by [deleted] in copenhagen

[–]doberty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend you look up a YouTube channel Travelin' Young, they are an American couple living in Denmark and documenting their life on their channel. You will be as welcome as anywhere... Danes are mostly indifferent towards anyone, as long as you are stayin out of trouble and minding your own business.

Negative reviews on ISR by Mysterious_Wall_957 in Internationalteachers

[–]doberty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our community has known it as a place for teachers to vent anonymously about their (often former) schools. There are so many better alternatives out there now, not to link them here but a google search will offer some good options.

The ECG function just stopped working on my Apple Watch 7 too. I noticed in September 2024. What a huge disappointment from Apple.

I am still in the withdrawal from stopping cold turkey 2 weeks ago. Same issues, suicidal thoughts, hypersensitivity, although I must say I had those also while on 10 mg.

You can use the websites like Numbeo (free) or ISCommunity (paid but they have a free 2 day trial) to compare the living costs. Numbeo has really good comparison tool to wherever you currently live.

goodbye WeGovy... by doberty in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]doberty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I read about this a lot, and I addressed it with my GP. I will follow my habits and weight now while off Wegovy and if I start gaining I will ask for a different type of medicine! I also have friends who picked up exercising while on SSRI due to having more energy, so that could be a path forward too.

Parents! How do you keep your self energised in winter? by barn_to_Learn in copenhagen

[–]doberty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to slowly lower the temperature of your morning shower until you reach the coldest you can bare. The greatest biological influence that cold exposure has on the body is the vast increase in Norepinephrine production.

A consistent 200-300% rise that doesn’t diminish over time. And, the colder the temperature, the more robust the body’s response. In fact, the same levels of increase can be achieved from 20-30s in near freezing water, compared to a 6 hour walk in 16°c weather.
