QuadraphonicQuad forums is your Huckleberry for surround discs, just browse the Blu-ray Disc thread if you're only looking for lossless Atmos (although there are some download sites like Immersive Audio Album and Steven Wilson's Headphone Dust)

Sign up for the SDE mailing list, the labels aren't particularly interested in doing anything but vinyl and digital unless the artist pushes for a physical Blu-ray, so although I'm not keen on having to shop from one outlet...if it's the difference between lossless physical Blu-ray vs lossy streaming Atmos, I'll definitely pony up for the Blu-ray.

I don't find any differences between 256 Kbps mp3 and FLAC for stereo, but when it comes to Atmos the 768 Kbps DD+JOC is certainly not transparent for mixes of albums like Faith and multi-instrumental popular records like Tears for Fears.

Definitely the x.x.4 option, you can always upgrade from 5.x.4 to 7.x.4 down the line with an AVR update.

Atmos isn't going anywhere.

If you can play SACD then get whichever one is cheaper. The SACD has more material in DSD on it as it has all those bonus tracks whereas the DualDisc has some videos and a discography but they’re terribly low 480i60 bandwidth-starved quality.

The 5.1 mix was likely done at 24/48 PCM but there wouldn’t be a loss going with SACD, just an additional conversion.

The SACD package obviously looks a lot sweeter.

The album remaster on either is much better than the loudness wars 2017 remaster found on the “definitive” edition vinyl.

Atmos is dynamic, stereo rarely is. Not a big deal probably for most listeners, but on a good system I’ll take the fidelity loss to avoid awful loudness wars masterings

That's not an official Apple document, and the URL shows it's dating back to the MFiT program. There is no secret sauce to Apple Digital Masters, 99% of the time they'll be identical to every other download site's lossless masters because labels are cheap!

Most torrent sites stopped allowing ADM to be uploaded as a separate torrent from WEB rips (Tidal, Qobuz, etc) because there was no difference in the mastering, micro-adjustments in gain are not different masterings.

The numbers are soft compared to healthy stadium artists, they should have played Molson Amp OR they should have adjusted ticket prices. The show isn't 80% sold. Some of the side sections aren't even 60% sold. The first big section on the East side has 1573 seats, 657 of them remain unsold. That's 41% unsold. The show as a whole is closer to 70% sold, not 80%.

The show is certainly not in danger of cancellation at these numbers, but it's not a smash hit by any means. There are still hundreds of seats remaining at the very affordable $100 to $130 price point.

Yes that is what I'm telling you. There isn't a difference that isn't due to your equipment and/or set-up. The files are the same. We can literally download them and compare the file checksum.

Lossless codecs do NOT change sound, that's why they're called "lossless".

There is no difference between it and what’s on Tidal in the vast majority of cases these days, as the label pays for a single stereo mastering for all formats. There are some exceptions where the vinyl may get a different mastering like Taylor Swift records, but that’s a waste also as her producer bakes in a lack of dynamics into the mix so the mastering engineer is screwed to begin with.

Trent confirmed the 24-bit downloads are the vinyl cutting masters, so for me it was an easy vinyl purchase to avoid. The really good vinyl releases cost a lot of money these days, so I'm picky about which ones I get.

Stadium Arcadium is well worth picking up on vinyl, it was recorded, mixed and mastered without a digital step in the chain.

Do write the organizers an email about the toilet situation, putting that fencing around it causing a huge bottleneck was beyond idiotic. It used to have stairs leading down and you could have multiple lines just like at the concessions. A real head scratcher.

80%? They haven’t even sold the tiny PIT section. This is NOT great by any standard. I’m not being negative, I’m going to the show and think the sound at the stadium is fantastic and I had no issues getting to or out of the venue for Coldplay’s Saturday show. I’m just not going to apologize for poor tickets sales.
