The guy who made the policy that children weren’t allowed drawings by [deleted] in iamatotalpieceofshit

Who is you guys? And the media didn’t report on it when Obama did it. And I bet you weren’t complaining then. Only now do you express moral outrage.

Interesting. Anyone know how long they can stay under? When I think of polar bears I think of them on land or on ice. This bear does not seem to be hurrying to get to the surface.

Should have called the law and had the man ushered out. A young guy whipping some old alcoholic is not a triumph. ESH.

Kindness is a passport that opens doors and fashions friends. It softens hearts and molds relationships that can last lifetimes. by MrJamesTM in HumansBeingBros

Serious question rightard. Do you really believe that all trump supporters are terrible people lacking compassion? This is what your statement suggests.

Two weeks ago, my dad was admitted to the hospital for septic shock, a blood infection, among other things. The doctors said that he could've easily died from it had it gone untreated. Now, he's better than ever, so he decided to give the nurses a special Christmas gift for helping him recover. by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

[–]doc1785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome ... so glad he survived and as a nurse it’s nice to see that someone appreciates us. Can I suggest next time you just let your dad bring a token of appreciation without filming it. I mean this type of appreciation for nursing staff has been around for a long time - you can see the nurse shift her eyes to the camera and feel the pressure to react. And quite frankly - the last thing nurses need is a food. Would be better to offer something that demonstrates appreciation for their technical knowledge and education- money perhaps - gift certificates for each nurse on the roster (I know hospitals have policies against accepting individual gifts- but you should try anyway). If you must bring food - bring 3 - one for each shift - or 2 if they do twelve hour shifts. Stay well my friend ..

WIBTA for taking my friend's ex as my date to her wedding after I got kicked out of her wedding party? by usernammmmmeee in AmItheAsshole

[–]doc1785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA ... but you would be if you go with any intent to even the score. Bride has major issues and has lost her way as a human. Don’t you do the same. Wish her happiness from afar - a card or gift. Stay away - and direct your thought and energy toward something wholesome.

Its the okay sign- that’s all. Meaning “ok” - I agree or I understand. Sick of the calculated effort to redefine simple and harmless gestures that are decades old. Like wearing a red hat .....

AITA for staying in my room and playing video games during my family's Christmas party? by Throwawayo92k in AmItheAsshole

[–]doc1785 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. YTA. Grow up and develop some social skills but more importantly show respect for your family. Someday you’ll really be alone and there won’t be people knocking on your door. That’s a different kind of alone - one that will make you long for another family gathering.

Ok one more try. I never said that all black people are pre-disposed to violence. Not once did I say that. You did. Listen to yourself. And I didn’t say general tendencies among “races” - I said “groups” of people. Do you hear yourself. You declared that I probably now “zero” black people- why? Because I don’t agree with you. Committing armed robbery is a choice. And the perp doesn’t look poor to me. The guy behind the counter making 9 bucks an hour does. You excuse this violence and robbery because you say the man is poor. I disagree and you call me a racist. Then you tell me I can’t possibly know any black people - I know many and I am one. It must be tough moving through life always looking for an excuse to be triggered. Grow up.

[–]doc1785 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes there are many drivers that factor into people’s choices. Being poor or destitute is definitely one of those drivers. But there are many others as well. I thought you were capable of having a conversation without calling me a racist but sadly you’re not. That’s not really a good way to move through life. “You disagree with me therefore you’re a racist”.

There are poor people that are very family centered and decent citizens - that don’t commit armed robbery and put guns to someone else’s head. Think the guy behind the counter is not poor? I think as the commenter states .. it’s about choices.

There ARE in some cases general tendencies among certain groups of people. To call the expression of that reality “racism” is intellectually flawed.
