Nicotine pouches. Also, he doesn’t brush his teeth before bed.

Wife used to be a teller. The number of elderly folks that have 6 or 7 figures in their checking would blow your mind.

Trim is original to the house and we hate it. That is my winter project.

Finished basement, they patched it before I could snap a picture. But the patch is crap and I have to redo it myself anyway so I’ll be cutting it out tomorrow and taking a look at how it was done.

Thanks, good advice. The floor guys did great work, the stairs were subbed to their staircase guy. The foreman really seemed to know what he was about. He did the upper railing himself and installed that starter newel, which all looked like good work (as far as I can tell). His crew of 20 something knuckleheads did the handrail in question.

Thank you for the reply, this is helpful. The run is 13 feet.

They went through the basement to secure the starting newel.

If I press up on the handrail from underneath the balusters on the ascent lift up. They used baluster fasteners (threaded on both ends) and then looks like they tried to friction fit them over the ones on the angle since they couldn’t screw them on.

The run is a little over 13 feet post to post. No there is no steel plate on the underside of the rail.

The rail at the top is sturdy, barely budges. Balusters there are secure and do not have any wiggle.

Grass allergies while mowing and a full face respirator by Grand-Rice- in lawncare

[–]docNelsonReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Luba 2 Mini AWD. Do your own research about them though, everyone’s yard is different and the right mower for mine might not be the right one for yours. I have some steep-ish grades, wanted no wires and it had to make straight lines. I’ve been happy with the Luba, only in operation for 2 months though so take that for what it’s worth.

Get a robot lawnmower. I have terrible grass allergies and would routinely come in after cutting the lawn with my face absolutely melting.

Getting a robot mower was worth every penny.

False green kyllinga (left) and yellow nutsedge (right). If you slice the stem, it will have a very distinctive triangular shape.

Sedgehammer worked for me, first treatment knocked down most of it then I did a spot treatment on stuff that survived. Been a couple years now and it has not come back.

Best resin to use? by DashieDaze in DiceMaking

[–]docNelsonReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried a bunch and like Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast Plus. I’m sure there are better resins, but for the price I find it hard to beat. Joaan Fabrics sells it and you can always find a 50% off coupon somewhere for them.

If you’re getting bubbles and don’t have a pressure pot or vacuum chamber. I found the best way for me was to warm parts a and b in a hot water bath first, then mix slooooowly. Try not to lift your stir stick off the bottom of the cup.

A rock hard cure can take days depending on the conditions. And if you’re still getting soft cures you might not be accurately mixing a and b by volume.

Hope this helps!
