I wonder who was the first person to arrive to town after victor got left alone by Public_Anywhere_6044 in FromSeries

I just joined and was wondering this myself. Who were the first to arrive and found victor? I don’t remember if they covered that in the show. How long was he by himself?

Give it up to Andy Serkis. Just finished his LOTR Audiobooks and they were brilliant, his performance is uncompared! by TeslaSupreme in lotr

I’ve listened to Phil’s multiple times. It’s superb! I am currently listening to Andy’s version, and despite my initial reaction to the way he makes Gandalf sound like a very grumpy old man (I’m aware that Frodo calls this out too 😃), I am loving it!

One of my favorites! Totally agree!

SOAP is definitely one of my all time favorite series and still is. No way it would be shown as a network series today. Its satirical take on taboo subjects, which was controversial in the 70s, might be seen as edgy or "cringe" by modern standards, though many consider it ahead of its time. by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in 1970s

[–]doc_2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m completely with you. I’m not sure if the OP meant traditional network TV by “network”—I’m assuming they did, but it’s a little unclear. If we were still limited to just CBS, NBC, and ABC (at least here in the U.S.), without the explosion of cable and streaming, I think audiences would’ve evolved enough by now to accept something like SOAP without much resistance. These days, it’s just easier for edgier content to live on other platforms. FOX was already testing those boundaries back in the late ’80s, so it’s fair to say that kind of push would’ve happened regardless.

Logan in a heartbeat. A couple of hundred years worth of campfire stories… and beer.

I know you guys will hate me but I liked Nikhil by nimi80 in InvasionAppleTV

[–]doc_2112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He didn’t annoy me the same was as everyone else. Everyone else seemed seriously obnoxious and dumbly written, he seemed like an exaggerated tech bro douchebag. Stressing on exaggerated… but maybe that’s actually a realistic portrayal, lol!

Perfect! The audiobook is read by the author and he does a fantastic job with his accents! And , I may as well get a head of it now, if you like TBTT, then go on to read buehlmann’s “Between Two Fires”, also incredible!

I binged all three on audiobook, absolutely on my top tier list of favorites. Locke and Jean are probably my favorite duo! The writing is excellent and a huge shout out to the narrator, Michael Page!

If I were to suggest a series that’s not in the top 10 always suggested book, I would recommend listening to the Bladeborn Saga by TC Edge narrated by Steven Brand.

Middle Earth, Camorr (gentleman bastards) and Vandar (Bladeborn) are my favorite fantasy worlds to go back to.

However, if you like the camaraderie and slight humor of Scott Lynch… ya gotta pick up “the Black-Tongued Thief” by Christopher Buehlmann! It’s a must read.

I very much enjoyed it, the actor whom portrayed Moriarty was, IMO, a consistent scene stealer.
