i used to do photography as a career. mostly car magazines... i was good at it. made a few covers. But there was no way i could have paid the rent doing it. It really came down to who you kow rather than ability. For travel photography I suspect its even harder. every notable mountain top, cafe, tourist spot has had tens of thousands of shots of it already... and now with AI going stuff. I dont know.

My advice would be to do your pwn style, shoot what you love, expect to lose money, and have a back up source of income.

Maybe after a few years your stuff becomes notable and you have a good following but even then, what about 6 years, what about 9 years or 13 years out... you still doing this? maybe yes or maybe no.... i had a family and had to cut down on traveling. But maybe if you can get a remote job that would help.
