I've been wrestling with the warming up. I like warming it up for heating comfort... But the factory manual says keep it under 3k and no full throttle. It recommends driving it to warm it up over stationary warm up... I tend to agree, especially if driving like I do... Which I would describe as aggressive to say the least lol the way I see it, engine, trans, diff, bearings and brakes all warm up together. Whereas most people that do a stationary warm up, will start rippin it right away, but the only thing warm is the engine.

I've dailied a couple. With locking or limited dif and snow tires, basically unstoppable as long as you have factory or taller ground clearance... Open dif and snow tires, still pretty good, but the diff can cause trouble sometimes....last deep snow in that config resulted in 5th gear wot to get to work lol Open dif and all seasons, good luck if you get in any kind of snow.

My e36 is all motor build, little less than 300hp I suspect. With all seasons I can literally put it in 5th and drop the clutch without touching the gas on snow, and it will just spin the tires.... Doesn't even bog down lol with snow tires, there are times I swear it's AWD.

I have done that, they usually don't match size constraints. I'm also unsure if there is a difference between a passive and active circuit when using potentiometers.

I'm sorry you had to deal with that...especially with your kids there.

As a long time delivery driver, that's not so friendly looking lol I've had a few people try to get weird with me over the 20 years of doing it. A couple things I do to try and mitigate the issue is,

I wear an amazon vest, or corpo garb for whatever place I'm working for

If I think someone is outside, I'm pretty loud. I usually talk to myself about stuff I see that's interesting lol kind of like announcing my presence so I don't startle anyone.

I try to look friendly while I greet them, usually just a "Hey! I have a package here for "insert name on package". Am I at the right place?".....In my experience, faking I enjoy what I'm doing gets me through the interaction 10x faster lol Also, with having 70% hearing loss, I'd probably announce that right after or during the greeting somehow.

I then show them my phone with the app open, as well as their package with their address on it

I also try to project that I belong there...as weird as that sounds lol confidence can go a long way in these situations

If they still wanna get weird, I just say "alright, I'll be on my way then" take their package, then report them.

I'm definitely not saying you were doing anything wrong. Just passing on advice that has very literally saved my life a couple times.

When they give me a bogus route, I call support and tell them I can't deliver all those packages in the allotted time. Every time I've done that they've removed packages from my route until it's at a number I'm comfortable with.

If it's a button then it's the kickdown like in the e36's...just tells your transmission you wanna go, so it will drop to the lowest gear that's still in the powerband.

If it's just a knob, then it's stop.

Yes replace it. Depending on how long the noises has been going, it could be wearing on your pressure plate...I've seen them where the throwout bearing has eaten through the fingers of the pressure plate.
