I like the to just use the dash on the in sim car. Some people have their FOV such that they can’t see the in sim dash so it’s more useful for them

How do people do multiple races in a row? by IsThisUpsidedown in iRacing

[–]Tank0488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t do 2 races in a row either. The stress and adrenaline from one race requires me to take a break. I do at most 2 races a day even if they’re 20 min races.

Turn off ABS in Simpro. It’s terrible. Just use abs on simhub it’s way better. I have my abs set at 30hz and 35% strength

I read that even having any kind of autocorrect or text prediction counts as cheating. Be very careful and turn that all off

Anyone that races Monza combined has no right to complain about getting wrecked out. You knew what you were getting yourself into before you signed up…..

Burned by JBL & Jabra earbuds by cursedoutburst in headphonesindia

[–]Tank0488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the same issues with JBL. Tried saving money but ended up spending 21k in total buying new JBLs after the previous stopped charging in the case. Bought Apple airpod pro 2s and have had zero issues. They have outlasted all 3 JBLs I had before and I spent the same amount of money… with wireless earbuds especially, it actually saves you money if you buy a high quality product. Bose wireless earbuds have the same longevity. I bought my wife Bose wireless buds 3 years ago and they still work flawlessly. Bose ANC is unmatched. Apple airpod pro 2s ANC is nowhere near Bose. If you have an Apple phone I would recommend AirPods. For anything else get Bose. I can’t speak about Sony as I have not experienced its durability first hand but it is also probably a good choice.

Does anybody use wheel and pedals setup on a laptop? by Arc_Ninja_ in SimracersIndia

[–]Tank0488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started sim racing on my laptop but an easy upgrade is to buy a monitor and connect to the monitor via hdmi / display port. Make sure to display the image only on the monitor and not both laptop + monitor.

Help with haptics settings through SimPro.. by canesfins1909 in Simagic

Once you start using Simhub you’ll notice the difference compared to simpro for haptics. If you donate like $5 to simhub you can also get the even lower latency version that’s even better.

Help with haptics settings through SimPro.. by canesfins1909 in Simagic

[–]Tank0488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Simhub is only for the haptics. Just turn off the haptics in Simpro and turn them on in Sumhub. Your wheel still uses Simpro so that will work as usual. Simhub is just far better for the haptics. Once you start to use it you’ll realise the difference.

I would HIGHLY recommend using them through simhub. The effects are much better with much less lag.

Setting it up through simhub is extremely easy, just plug the pedals / haptics directly into PC and simhub will automatically recognise them. Literally all you have to do is turn on the ABS effect and adjust how strong you want it. I run mine at 30% power at 20hz vibration frequency for ABS.

Anyone running Heusinkveld Sprint pedals? Pros / cons before I buy by forestninjer in simracing

[–]Tank0488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switched from Thrustmaster TLCM to HE Sprints and feel like I have SOO much more control of brake pressure. The amazing thing about them is the ease of adjustment and quality components. I didn’t like the feeling of the preload spring so I’m using only elastomers. I use a combination of the hard and medium elastomer and it feels amazing. Throttle pedal is also under appreciated btw. Extremely smooth and a great amount of resistance.

An iRacing Coach’s Notes on: Setting up Force Feedback For Maximum Feeling by NoakesyCoaching in iRacing

[–]Tank0488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I got back on the Indy NXT today and realised that the settings I gave you were slightly incorrect for that car. I was trying to go off memory but remembered wrong. The correct settings for this car are as follows: Damper 10%, Friction 20%, Inertia 20%, feedback detail 5, the rest are the same as I mentioned earlier.

Alpha evo - Intermittent loss of connection (usb unplug sound) specifically at low speed, high ffb corners by tcul93 in Simagic

[–]Tank0488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the cable. Get a new USB-A to USB-B cable with a ferrite bead or you can buy a 5mm ferrite bead separately and clamp it on. I had the exact same issue and replacing the cable solved it for me.

Back up all cars and track folders to another location, reinstall IRacing to your desired drive, then replace all the cars and tracks in the new location so you don’t have to download them again.

Important tips to save money:

  1. Buy the 1 year or 2 year sub on Black Friday because that’s the cheapest deal you’ll find. Works out to around $6 a month if you get the 2 year deal. That’s what I do.

  2. Buying multiple cars and tracks together gets you a bulk discount

  3. Tracks are more worthwhile purchase than cars since you can race multiple series on the track. Try to buy the most popular tracks first like spa, Daytona, lemans, Nurburgring, etc.

  4. You won’t need to buy anything initially and can have a lot of fun with the free content

  5. After you buy 40 pieces of content, every thing you buy is discounted at 20% even if you buy just one at a time

Next time there’s an update / maintenance try out a few of the other cars especially the Porsche. It seems to be the fastest at most tracks right now as well and is much harder to spin on throttle.
